XenForo 2.3 AI-Powered RSS Summarizer and Thread Importer Add-on

I need a custom XenForo 2.3 add-on that imports RSS feeds, retrieves each linked article, uses AI to generate a concise summary, and creates a normal XenForo discussion thread. The website name and subject matter are confidential and should not be mentioned publicly. The site currently uses three RSS feeds and may add more later. Required workflow For each new RSS item, the add-on should: Read the RSS entry and original article URL. Fetch the linked article page. Extract the main article text while removing menus, ads, related-content sections, navigation, footers, and other page clutter. Send the cleaned article text to an AI provider. Generate a neutral, factual summary of approximately 75–125 words. Create a standard XenForo discussion thread in the selected forum. Use the original article headline as the thread title. Apply the thread prefix assigned to that feed. Include the AI summary, source attribution, and original article link. End the post with: “Discuss this story below.” Prevent duplicate imports using the RSS GUID, canonical URL, or both. The resulting post should look approximately like this: [AI-generated summary of approximately 75–125 words.] Source: [Source name] [Link to the full article] Discuss this story below. Admin CP options The add-on should allow configuration of: RSS feed URL Source name Destination forum Thread prefix Enable or disable each feed AI provider AI API key AI model Summary length Editable AI prompt Feed-check frequency Maximum articles imported per run Post immediately or place in moderation Configurable fallback template OpenAI support is required. OpenRouter support would be useful if it does not add significant cost or complexity. Failure handling If an article cannot be retrieved or summarized, the add-on should: retry during a later cron run; or create a link-only post using a configurable fallback template. It must not create duplicate threads after a failed or repeated attempt. Logging A basic Admin CP log should show: successfully imported skipped as duplicate article retrieval failed AI request failed awaiting retry fallback post created Development requirements Must be a properly packaged XenForo 2.3 add-on. Must use XenForo’s standard entities, services, options, permissions, and cron system. Do not create threads through improvised direct database inserts. API credentials must be stored appropriately. The add-on must be suitable for future XenForo updates. Complete source code must be provided. I must have the right to continue using and modifying the add-on.
