AI Workflow Automation Developer for Insurance Claims Intake

Our client manages a high volume of insurance claims submitted through email, online forms, PDFs, and customer service notes. Our team spends too much time reviewing documents, entering information into internal systems, checking for missing details, and assigning claims to the correct person. We are looking for an experienced developer to build a workflow automation system with an AI agent that can support the claims intake process from submission through internal review. Scope of Work The platform should automatically collect new claims, extract the required information, validate the submission, and move each case through the correct workflow. The AI agent will be responsible for tasks such as: - Reading claim forms, emails, and supporting documents - Extracting policy numbers, incident details, dates, locations, and claimant information - Identifying missing or inconsistent information - Categorizing claims by type, urgency, and complexity - Checking customer and policy data through API integrations - Creating or updating records in our claims management system - Drafting follow-up messages for incomplete submissions - Routing complex cases to the correct reviewer - Recording every action in a searchable audit log The system must include human approval steps for sensitive actions. We do not want an autonomous agent making final claims decisions. Technical Expectations We are open to OpenAI or Claude integrations and would like recommendations on the best architecture. The solution may use Python, FastAPI, LangGraph, n8n, PostgreSQL, a vector database, REST APIs, and cloud deployment on AWS or Azure. Experience with OCR, document processing, workflow automation, structured LLM outputs, security, and error recovery is important. The system should be scalable, production-ready, and easy to expand into additional claims workflows.
