We are looking for an experienced desktop software engineer to build a lightweight, stable, custom Telegram messenger client from the ground up.
The application will focus exclusively on core 1-on-1 messaging functionality. We prioritize absolute stability, clean architecture, and reliable state management over bells and whistles.
---
Core Requirements:
• Tech Stack: Electron + TypeScript + React, backed by TDLib (tdlib native/FFI bindings or dynamic library).
• Authentication Flow: In-app login via phone number, SMS/Telegram OTP, and password (2FA / Cloud Password support required).
• Direct Messaging (1-on-1 Only):
- Reliable sending and receiving of text messages, threaded replies, and standard attachments (images/files).
- Smooth incoming and outgoing sync with minimal latency.
• Deleted Message Tombstones:
- When a message is deleted by either party, it must not disappear from the local view.
- The client must retain and render a tombstone showing the original message text with a clear visual indicator that it was deleted.
- Note: Tombstones only need to retain message text; preserving deleted media/attachments is not required.
• Configuration: Standard .env or local configuration file handling for api_id, api_hash, and TDLib parameters.
---
Scope Exclusions (Keep It Lean):
To ensure rapid delivery and maximum stability, you do NOT need to implement:
• Group chats, channels, or bot interactions (1-on-1 private chats only).
• In-app search (chat search or message search).
• Rich markdown formatting/WYSIWYG tools.
• Advanced keyboard shortcuts or UI themes.
---
Key Constraints:
• Strictly From Scratch: Do not fork, wrap, or skin existing open-source Telegram clients (e.g., Telegram Desktop, WebK/WebZ, Kotatogram). We require clean, modular code written specifically for this project.
• Daily Reliability: Proper connection handling, IPC communication, and local TDLib state management to prevent memory leaks or crashes during extended daily operation.
---
To Apply:
Please share:
1. Brief examples of previous projects using Electron + TypeScript, especially involving native C/C++ bindings or native dynamic libraries.
2. Your direct experience working with TDLib (or the Telegram API/MTProto).
3. Your estimated timeline and fixed-price quote or weekly rate.
