Developer Agency — Platform Maintenance, Integrations & AI Features (Transportation Platform)

We are seeking a Developer to oversee the ongoing maintenance, stability, and enhancement of our transportation platform. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and resolving bugs, optimizing system performance, and ensuring seamless operations. You will also manage and build integrations with third-party services, including payment gateways, mapping tools, and external APIs, to ensure a reliable and frictionless experience for our users. Key Responsibilities -Bug Fixing & Troubleshooting: Actively diagnose, debug, and resolve technical issues across the platform to ensure high system availability. -Platform Maintenance: Perform routine code upkeep, optimize database performance, and maintain overall platform infrastructure. -API & Third-Party Integrations: Integrate and manage external services, including secure payment gateways (e.g., Stripe, PayPal, Redsys), geolocation/mapping APIs, and notification systems. -System Quality & Security: Ensure data protection compliance and safe handling of transaction workflows during payment processing. First priority project: Automated Transport Request Detection (AI Agent) While this is an ongoing role, your first assignment will be a new feature. We're splitting it into three phases: -Phase 0 — Environment Set Up -Phase 1 — Foundation -Phase 2 — Detection agent Tech context: Backend/infra: Google Cloud (existing project already set up) AI: Gemini + Claude APIs (already provisioned) Existing Maps API script for geocoding/distance, reusable for address normalization Existing client portal and booking system to integrate with (shared with shortlisted candidates) What we're looking for -Solid backend development experience with REST API design and database work (tell us your stack) -Experience integrating payment gateways (Stripe, PayPal, or similar) and mapping/geolocation APIs -Experience integrating LLM APIs (Gemini, Claude, or OpenAI) into production pipelines is a strong plus, ideally with document/email extraction -Comfortable owning both reactive work (bug fixes, incidents) and proactive feature builds -Clear, proactive communication — we want visibility into progress, blockers, and technical tradeoffs. We're looking to build a long-term working relationship, starting with the project above.
