Python Developer for OpenAI API Integration – AI Lead Qualification in Existing App + CRM

We have an existing web app with a Python backend (FastAPI or Django). Our contact form and inbox bring in about 50–100 enquiries a week. Right now our team reads each one, decides if it’s a good fit, and copies it into our CRM by hand. We want to add AI to this existing workflow, not build a new product. WHAT WE NEED (Phase 1 – this job) Integrate the OpenAI API (or Claude API) into our existing backend so that each new enquiry (web form or email) is automatically: Read by AI, which extracts structured fields (contact details, service or property type, budget, timeline, urgency) using structured JSON output. The AI must not guess missing information. Scored and tagged Hot / Warm / Medium / Cold using our rule-based scoring (the rules are ours and configurable, not left to the AI). Sent to our CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot or GoHighLevel) via REST API as a new lead or contact, with the AI summary and score on the record. Flagged “needs review” when the AI’s confidence is low. Sent a short AI-drafted acknowledgement email, for our review before sending. It must handle API errors, retries and duplicate submissions, so no lead is lost or created twice. Code should be clean, documented Python in our existing repo, using Git branches and pull requests. DELIVERABLE Working AI lead qualification inside our current app. Tested on 20 real past enquiries. A short handover note and a demo video. BUDGET AND TIMELINE Fixed price: $400–600. Timeline: 5–7 days. POSSIBLE NEXT PHASES (separate contracts, if Phase 1 goes well) Phase 2: automated notifications and follow-up workflow (n8n / Make.com or FastAPI webhooks) and routing to the right sales rep. Phase 3: AI chatbot on our website using the same qualification logic. YOU’LL BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU HAVE Python backend experience (FastAPI or Django) and REST API integration. OpenAI (ChatGPT) API or Claude API experience with structured outputs. CRM integration, ideally Salesforce, HubSpot or GoHighLevel. Experience with webhooks, retries, idempotency and error handling.
