Senior Full-Stack Developer | PostgreSQL, React, TypeScript, SaaS Architecture & AI-Assisted Dev

We're looking for a highly experienced Senior Full-Stack Developer / Software Engineer to help us continue developing, improving, and scaling VitaRelay, an established healthcare technology SaaS platform. VitaRelay is a complex, multi-portal platform supporting telehealth operations, prescription routing, pharmacy integrations, partner networks, API connectivity, administrative systems, and automated workflows. We like to leverage modern AI-assisted development tools such as Lovable, Claude Code, and Cursor to accelerate development. However, we're looking for someone who brings genuine software engineering expertise, strong architectural knowledge, and the ability to independently build and maintain production-grade applications. We want an experienced developer who knows how to architect, build, troubleshoot, and optimize complex software, and not someone who relies solely on AI-generated code. We're prioritizing candidates with strong experience in: - PostgreSQL: Advanced database design, relational architecture, query optimization, indexing, migrations, and data integrity. - JavaScript & TypeScript: Strong proficiency across frontend and backend development. - React: Building scalable, maintainable frontend applications and reusable components. - Backend Development: Node.js, server-side architecture, business logic, and asynchronous processing. - API Development & Integrations: REST APIs, webhooks, third-party services, authentication, and data synchronization. - Software Architecture: Designing scalable, secure, maintainable SaaS applications with interconnected systems. - Application Security: Authentication, authorization, role-based access control, data protection, and secure API design. - Cloud & Infrastructure: Experience with modern cloud environments, serverless functions, deployment pipelines, and production monitoring. - AI-Assisted Development: Practical experience with Lovable, Claude Code, Cursor, or comparable tools. - Experience with Supabase, Edge Functions, and similar backend technologies is valuable, but strong PostgreSQL and backend architecture expertise is more important than experience with any specific development platform. - Candidates should also be comfortable learning and working with additional programming languages, frameworks, and technologies used throughout our existing application. Responsibilities - Develop, improve, and maintain existing features across our SaaS platform. - Review, debug, refactor, and optimize existing and AI-generated code. - Design and improve PostgreSQL database architecture, relationships, queries, and performance. - Build and maintain backend services, APIs, webhooks, and third-party integrations. - Develop scalable React components and frontend functionality. - Improve application security, authentication, permissions, and data handling. - Troubleshoot complex issues across frontend, backend, databases, and integrations. - Evaluate existing architecture and recommend improvements without unnecessarily rebuilding working systems. - Implement new features while maintaining compatibility with existing workflows. - Establish appropriate testing, code review, version control, and deployment practices. - Identify performance bottlenecks, technical debt, and potential scalability issues. - Collaborate directly with our team to translate business requirements into reliable technical solutions. We're looking for someone who: Has 5+ years of professional full-stack software development experience. Has independently architected or significantly contributed to complex SaaS applications. Understands PostgreSQL at an architectural level, not just basic SQL queries. Can confidently work across frontend, backend, database, and infrastructure layers. Has experience managing large, interconnected codebases. Understands multi-tenant systems, complex user permissions, and data security. Can independently diagnose issues and implement reliable solutions. Uses AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity without compromising engineering quality. Writes clean, maintainable, well-structured code. Understands how to build systems that can scale as usage and complexity increase. Communicates clearly, works efficiently, and takes ownership of deliverables. Most importantly, we want someone who understands the underlying engineering and architecture and not just how to prompt an AI tool to generate features. The following experience is a significant plus: Healthcare, telehealth, pharmacy, or other regulated SaaS platforms. HIPAA-related technical safeguards and secure handling of sensitive information. Complex multi-tenant or multi-portal SaaS applications. Third-party healthcare and pharmacy API integrations. PostgreSQL performance tuning and advanced database architecture. Serverless functions, background jobs, queues, and event-driven systems. AI-assisted development workflows involving Lovable, Claude Code, or Cursor. Working with and improving existing AI-generated applications. CI/CD, automated testing, and production monitoring. Healthcare experience is preferred but not required. Strong engineering fundamentals and architectural expertise are our highest priorities. We're not looking for: Developers whose primary skill is prompting Lovable or other AI tools. Developers who cannot independently read, debug, or modify code. Frontend-only developers without strong backend and database experience. Developers who continuously recommend rebuilding applications instead of understanding and improving existing systems. Developers who prioritize speed over security, maintainability, and reliability. We fully embrace AI-assisted development, but we expect our developer to understand, validate, and take responsibility for the code being deployed.
