I’m looking for a developer to build the code for a web-based Hertz rental car rate scanner.
I will provide the GitHub repository and handle the final deployment/infrastructure setup myself. The developer’s job is to build a clean, production-ready codebase that is designed to run on Cloudflare.
## Main Functionality
The website should allow me to select:
* Country
* State, or entire country
* Pickup date/time
* Return date/time
* Long-term rentals, including up to approximately 11 months
* Hertz CDP / discount code
* Optional PC / coupon code
* Vehicle class/size
* Airport, non-airport, or all locations
The app should search all applicable Hertz locations, retrieve live rates, and display results sorted from lowest to highest TOTAL rental price.
Results should include:
* Hertz location name/code
* City/state
* Airport vs non-airport
* Vehicle class/category
* Example vehicle
* Base/subtotal
* Taxes
* Fees
* Actual quoted total
* Rental dates/duration
* Monthly equivalent
* Currency
* Search timestamp
Results should be exportable to CSV/XLSX.
## Hertz Integration
I have a diagnostic capture from a real Hertz browser session showing network/API traffic for:
* Session/auth token acquisition
* Hertz locations
* Vehicle rates
* Vehicle classes
* Taxes/fees/totals
The developer will receive this capture.
The app should dynamically obtain any required session/token state. Do not hard-code temporary tokens or cookies.
Experience with Puppeteer/Playwright/CDP, browser network inspection, API request replication, retries, concurrency, and session refresh is important.
## Architecture
The code should be designed for Cloudflare, using:
* TypeScript
* Cloudflare Workers-compatible backend
* React or similar frontend
* Cloudflare D1-compatible database layer
* SQLite-compatible local development if helpful
* Cloudflare R2-compatible storage layer for exports/files
* Cloudflare Browser Rendering/Puppeteer if browser sessions are needed
* Queues/Workflows-compatible job architecture for large searches
D1 is SQLite-based, so database code and migrations should be written with D1/SQLite compatibility in mind.
The app should support asynchronous search jobs rather than relying on one long-running HTTP request.
## Search Features
The scanner should support:
* Search progress
* Results appearing as they are found
* Configurable concurrency
* Retries/backoff
* 401/session refresh handling
* 403/429/error handling
* Failed-location tracking
* Search cancellation
* Saved/search history
## Database
The database should support tables for things like:
* Hertz locations
* Search jobs
* Search parameters
* Results
* Failed locations
* Search status/history
Use migrations and keep the schema compatible with Cloudflare D1.
## Deliverables
I expect:
* Complete source code committed to my GitHub repository
* Frontend web app
* Worker-compatible backend
* D1/SQLite-compatible schema and migrations
* R2-compatible export/storage layer
* Hertz location/rate integration
* Browser/session integration if required
* CSV/XLSX export
* Search history/results
* Error/retry handling
* Clean project structure
* README with local setup and Cloudflare deployment instructions
* No hard-coded credentials/tokens/cookies
I am not hiring someone to manage my Cloudflare account. I mainly need the application code built correctly so I can connect the repo and deploy/configure it myself.
