WordPress Designer/Developer for Healthcare Websites

WordPress Website Designer and Developer — Ongoing Healthcare Projects Budget: $10 USD per hour Initial workload: approximately 20–30 hours per week during active projects Location: Remote; international applicants welcome We are a U.S. reproductive healthcare organization seeking a freelance WordPress designer/developer to update existing websites and build new ones. Our services include abortion care and telemedicine. We already work successfully with freelancers in India and are expanding our team because our current developer is fully occupied. You will collaborate with our SEO specialist and our in-house IT manager, Steve. Steve manages our servers and backend systems and approves technical architecture and deployment. The projects include: - A website representing a multi-office healthcare organization. - Individual websites marketing specific offices. - A telemedicine practice website. - Public pages for a shared patient intake and ordering website. We will complete the projects in stages. Responsibilities: - Create professional, reassuring designs that work well on phones and computers. - Build WordPress pages and reusable templates that staff can edit easily. - Improve navigation, readability, accessibility, and loading speed. - Implement approved content and SEO requirements, including redirects. - Test pages, links, and forms in a separate development environment. - Provide documentation and a clear handover. The shared intake website will involve branching questions and secure patient communications. We are considering Hushmail for Healthcare. This integration will be scoped separately with Steve; please describe any relevant experience. Our clinical team supplies and approves medical questions and decision rules. Qualifications: - Live examples of websites you personally designed and built. - Strong WordPress and HTML/CSS skills. - Good visual judgment and attention to detail. - Experience with mobile layouts, performance, backups, and website migrations. - Clear English communication and the ability to manage assigned work independently. - Healthcare or secure-form experience is a plus. All development must use company-approved accounts and components. Testing must use fictitious patient data. We will begin with a small paid trial, followed by a paid pilot with agreed deliverables and weekly hours. Please include: 1. Three live websites and your exact contribution to each. 2.
