WordPress Developer (Shopify & WooCommerce Experience Required) About Us Venerate Media Group (VMG) is an established digital marketing agency specializing in SEO, web development, paid media, branding, and digital strategy. We build high-performance websites that are visually stunning, technically sound, and optimized for search engine performance. We are looking for an experienced WordPress Developer who can become a long-term member of our development team. While our primary platform is WordPress, many of our clients also require Shopify and WooCommerce expertise. What You'll Do You'll work directly with our project management team to build, maintain, and improve websites for a variety of industries. Responsibilities include: Build custom WordPress websites from Figma or Adobe XD designs Customize premium themes without creating unnecessary technical debt Develop custom WordPress functionality when needed Create responsive, mobile-first websites Build and maintain WooCommerce stores Develop and customize Shopify stores Optimize websites for Core Web Vitals and PageSpeed Implement advanced SEO best practices Troubleshoot plugin conflicts and server-related issues Perform WordPress migrations Configure security, backups, and caching Integrate third-party APIs, CRMs, forms, payment gateways, and marketing tools Maintain clean, documented, scalable code Work closely with our SEO and design teams Required Skills Expert-Level WordPress Custom theme development Child themes Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) Elementor Pro Gutenberg Custom Post Types WordPress Hooks & Filters WooCommerce customization Front-End HTML5 CSS3 JavaScript jQuery Responsive design Bootstrap (preferred) Back-End PHP MySQL REST APIs Git E-Commerce Must have experience building and maintaining: Shopify stores WooCommerce stores Payment gateway integrations Product catalogs Shipping and tax configuration Subscription platforms Conversion optimization Performance Experience with: Cloudflare WP Rocket LiteSpeed Cache Image optimization CDN configuration Core Web Vitals optimization SEO Knowledge Understanding of: Technical SEO Schema markup Internal linking Redirects XML sitemaps Structured data Page speed optimization Crawlability Canonical tags Indexation Nice to Have Laravel experience React Headless WordPress WP Engine Kinsta DigitalOcean VPS administration Shopify Liquid HubSpot integration Zapier Google Tag Manager GA4 Conversion tracking The Ideal Candidate We're looking for someone who: Thinks like a problem solver—not just a coder Pays close attention to detail Communicates clearly and proactively Can estimate projects accurately Meets deadlines consistently Writes clean, maintainable code Tests thoroughly before delivering work Takes ownership of projects Is interested in a long-term relationship rather than one-off projects To Apply Please include: Your portfolio (WordPress and Shopify examples) Links to 3–5 websites you've personally developed Your favorite WordPress plugin and why Your experience with WooCommerce Your experience with Shopify Your availability (hours per week) Your hourly rate Your time zone A brief description of your development workflow Bonus Points Tell us about: The most technically challenging website you've built.
