Principal Software Architect – AI SaaS Launch Readiness Assessment We are looking for a seasoned software architect to conduct an independent engineering and product assessment of our AI-powered SaaS platform before its commercial launch. This is not a feature development project. Our platform has been under active development for more than a year by a small engineering team. It includes an AI reasoning engine, multi-platform advertising integrations, workflow automation, reporting, and a modern multi-tenant web application. We are now approaching the point where development transitions from feature implementation to production readiness. Because our team has lived with this product every day, we recognize that we have blind spots. We want an experienced engineering leader who can evaluate the platform objectively and tell us where those blind spots exist. We are looking for someone who has successfully helped launch complex SaaS products and who is comfortable providing candid, evidence-based feedback. If you believe something should not go to market, we want to hear why. Your Responsibilities You will receive access to our codebase, documentation, and staging environment. Your role is to independently evaluate the platform and identify opportunities for improvement. Your review should include: * Overall software architecture and service organization * Code quality and maintainability * Scalability and performance risks * Production readiness * Security and operational hardening * AI reasoning reliability and failure handling * User experience and workflow friction * Engineering processes and deployment practices * Technical debt that should be addressed before launch * Blind spots that an internal team may no longer recognize We are not looking for a theoretical review. We want practical recommendations that improve our chances of a successful commercial launch. Deliverables At the conclusion of the engagement, we expect: * An executive assessment of overall launch readiness * A prioritized list of findings categorized by severity * A blind spot report identifying issues the current team is likely overlooking * A production readiness assessment covering architecture, operations, scalability, and reliability * Actionable recommendations for immediate improvements and a prioritized roadmap This Is NOT a Development Project Please do not apply if your first recommendation is to rewrite the application or replace major components without strong justification. We are looking for an experienced engineering leader who can evaluate what exists today, identify risks, and recommend practical improvements. Implementation work may follow as a separate engagement. Ideal Background You have experience as a: * Principal Software Engineer * Staff Engineer * Platform Architect * Founding Engineer * VP of Engineering * Startup CTO You have personally helped launch SaaS products into production and understand what separates a technically complete product from one that is truly ready for paying customers. Experience with AI-powered applications, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and multi-tenant SaaS platforms is highly desirable.
