AI Chatbot SaaS Developer (RAG + OpenAI + Vector DB)

We're building an AI-powered chatbot platform that allows businesses to create custom support assistants trained on their own documents and website content. Users will be able to upload PDFs, text files, and website URLs, and the chatbot will answer questions using only the provided knowledge base. This is the first phase of a larger product. We're looking for a developer who has real experience building RAG-based AI applications and is interested in a long-term collaboration as the platform evolves. ## Phase 1 Scope ### AI Knowledge Base & Chat * Upload PDFs, text files, and website URLs * Extract, chunk, and embed content * Store embeddings in a vector database * Context-aware retrieval and AI-generated responses * Support conversation history and follow-up questions ### Bot Management * Create and manage multiple chatbots * Separate knowledge base for each chatbot * Basic chatbot settings (name, welcome message, personality) ### Dashboard * User authentication and account management * Manage documents and chatbots * View conversation history and basic usage statistics ### Embeddable Chat Widget * Easy website integration * Customizable colors and branding * Responsive design for desktop and mobile ## Preferred Tech Stack * Frontend: React or Next.js * Backend: Node.js/Express or Python/FastAPI * Database: PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB * Vector Database: Pinecone, Qdrant, Weaviate, or ChromaDB * AI Models: OpenAI, Anthropic, or Gemini * Docker-ready deployment ## Requirements * Proven experience building AI chatbots or RAG systems * Experience with vector databases and embeddings * Ability to deliver production-ready code * Good communication and availability during development ## In Your Proposal, Please Include * Examples of relevant AI/RAG projects you've built * Your recommended tech stack and vector database * A brief overview of your proposed architecture * Estimated timeline for Phase 1 * Your availability for future development phases
