Custom Payment Gateway Developer (Elavon Converge Integration) Project Overview We are seeking an experienced PHP/Laravel developer to build a custom payment gateway plugin for our platform using the Elavon Converge payment gateway. Rather than developing the integration from scratch, we already have a fully functional Stripe payment gateway plugin that will serve as the reference architecture. The goal is to replicate the existing functionality while replacing all Stripe-specific API calls with the Elavon Converge API, maintaining the same workflow, user experience, and coding standards. This project is ideal for a developer with proven experience integrating payment gateways and a strong understanding of secure payment processing, API authentication, and PCI compliance. Responsibilities * Review the existing Stripe payment gateway plugin. * Understand its architecture and payment workflow. * Develop a new payment gateway plugin using the Elavon Converge API. * Maintain compatibility with our existing payment framework. * Replace all Stripe API functionality with Elavon Converge equivalents. * Implement payment authorization and sales transactions. * Support captures, voids, and refunds where supported. * Handle transaction errors and declined payments gracefully. * Log requests and responses for troubleshooting and auditing. * Implement callback/webhook processing if required. * Ensure secure handling of payment credentials and PCI best practices. * Deliver clean, well-documented, production-ready code.
