Hi,
I am looking for an experienced full-stack developer or small development team to provide a quotation for a secure, responsive AI-enabled EdTech SaaS MVP intended initially for the UK higher-education market.
The platform is a web application rather than a standard informational website.
Core MVP Requirements
The MVP will include:
Secure student registration/login and profiles
Three user roles: Student, Expert and Administrator
Structured diagnostic activities across six predefined academic capability areas
Personalised student profile based on diagnostic results
Configurable rule-based personalisation with selective AI analysis
Practice activities with AI-supported formative feedback
Independent reassessment and progress/profile updating
Assessment-support functionality allowing students to upload assessment briefs, marking rubrics/criteria and optional learning outcomes
AI/API-supported document analysis
Personalised assessment-preparation priorities
Lightweight expert marketplace/profiles and session requests
Third-party video-service integration rather than proprietary video development
Recurring subscription payments
Basic administration/content-management functionality
Basic reporting/flagging functionality
AI/API
The platform will integrate with an established AI provider through an API. Development of a proprietary AI model is not required.
AI will be used selectively for written-response analysis, formative feedback, document interpretation and selected personalisation functions.
The architecture should allow AI models/providers and educational rules to be modified later without rebuilding the whole application.
Confidential Methodology
The platform contains a proprietary diagnostic, scoring and personalisation methodology.
Detailed scoring rules, diagnostic questions, decision trees, intervention-selection logic, reassessment thresholds, prioritisation methodology and proprietary prompts will not be disclosed at quotation stage.
The system should therefore support configurable educational rules/content. Detailed methodology will be provided to the selected developer following appropriate confidentiality/IP arrangements.
Security & Data Protection
Security is a high-priority requirement. The platform will process student information, assessment documents and expert verification information.
The solution should include:
Secure authentication/password handling
Role-based and least-privilege access
Admin MFA
HTTPS/encryption
Private document storage
Secure database configuration
Secure API-key management
Backup/recovery
Security logging
Appropriate data-retention/deletion capability
Separation of development/test and production environments
Development/testing should use synthetic data wherever possible. Production-data access should be restricted and controlled.
The business will also have independent cybersecurity specialist oversight.
Expert Verification
Expert qualification/identity documents must remain private and separate from public expert profiles, with access restricted to authorised administrators.
Payments
The MVP should support recurring student subscriptions using an established payment provider such as Stripe or an appropriate alternative. Raw card information should not be stored by the application.
Ownership
The founder/business should control the principal production infrastructure, including hosting/cloud, database, source-code repository, AI/API accounts, payment account and domain.
Subject to agreed third-party/open-source licences and payment terms, appropriate ownership/perpetual rights to commissioned custom source code and development must be transferred/provided to the business.
Not Required for MVP
The base quotation should exclude:
Native iOS/Android apps
Proprietary video conferencing
Proprietary AI foundation model
Advanced machine-learning recommendation engine
Large-scale multilingual functionality
Institutional dashboards
Large content libraries
Advanced automated surveillance/moderation
The MVP should nevertheless be architected to allow future expansion.
