Astro.js Developer | WordPress-to-Astro Migration

About Us: Mavan is a growing digital marketing agency specializing in websites, SEO, and digital growth for medical, aesthetics, wellness, and healthcare businesses. We are currently transitioning our website development process from WordPress to Astro and are looking for an experienced Astro developer to help us migrate our existing portfolio of WordPress client websites. We are already working with another Astro developer to build the framework, components, standards, and development process for new client websites. We now need someone who can help apply and improve that system for existing WordPress-to-Astro migrations. Because this is a brand-new process for our agency, we are looking for someone who is not only a strong developer, but also enjoys helping build systems, solve problems, and improve processes as we grow. What You’ll Be Doing: -Migrating existing WordPress websites to Astro -Rebuilding WordPress/Elementor layouts using clean, reusable Astro components -Migrating website content, images, metadata, and assets -Preserving existing URL structures and SEO equity -Implementing and validating 301 redirects when needed -Maintaining meta titles, descriptions, canonicals, schema, and internal links -Recreating forms, CTAs, lead funnels, and third-party integrations -Reconnecting analytics, tracking scripts, and pixels -Testing websites across desktop, tablet, and mobile -Improving site speed and Core Web Vitals -Performing pre-launch and post-launch QA -Working with our existing Astro developer to improve our development and migration system -Documenting processes, solutions, and best practices for future developers What We’re Looking For: -Required --Strong Astro / Astro.js experience --Strong HTML, CSS, and JavaScript skills --Experience building responsive websites --Experience with Git/version control --Strong understanding of component-based development --Excellent attention to detail --Ability to troubleshoot and work independently --Clear communication and ability to collaborate with a remote team -Strongly Preferred --Experience migrating WordPress websites to Astro or another modern framework --WordPress and Elementor experience --TypeScript experience --Understanding of technical SEO and website migrations --Experience with 301 redirects, schema, canonical tags, and URL mapping --Experience with Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and conversion tracking --Experience with APIs and third-party integrations --Experience improving Core Web Vitals --Agency experience Who Will Thrive in This Role: We are a small, growing startup-style agency, and our processes are continuously evolving.
