I’m looking for a developer to set up a private digital research archive using CollectiveAccess Providence + Pawtucket.
The project includes:
Installing and configuring CollectiveAccess Providence
Installing and configuring Pawtucket
Linux server setup and deployment on DigitalOcean
MySQL/MariaDB and PHP configuration
Image, PDF and video support, including ffmpeg
Backblaze B2 integration for large media storage
Private/login-only access
Basic security, HTTPS and backups
Customizing the Pawtucket front end to a very minimal visual design
The archive will contain images, PDFs, scans, short films, archival films and other research material.
Providence will be the backend where I add and edit records and metadata. Pawtucket will be the private visual interface where I search and browse the collection.
I am not looking to build a custom archive platform from scratch. I specifically want to use CollectiveAccess.
Direct CollectiveAccess experience is strongly preferred.
Please include in your response:
Have you personally installed or customized CollectiveAccess Providence and/or Pawtucket?
Can you show an example or describe a CollectiveAccess project you've worked on?
Are you comfortable with PHP, MySQL/MariaDB, Linux, DigitalOcean, object storage such as Backblaze B2/S3, and ffmpeg?
Are you comfortable customizing a Pawtucket theme/front end?
I want to begin with a small working prototype before expanding the archive.
