NestJS/React Full-Stack Developer — Personal Finance App, Foundation Setup (Ongoing Work Available)

We're building a personal/household finance web app from scratch: connects to bank accounts via Plaid, syncs transactions, and tracks payment due dates with automated reminders. This is a new project — we have a detailed requirements/architecture doc ready to share with the freelancer we hire. Planned tech stack: NestJS (backend), PostgreSQL + Prisma (database/ORM), React + Vite + Tailwind (frontend), Plaid API (bank sync), Docker (local dev) This first task — foundation setup: Scaffold the monorepo (NestJS API + React frontend, pnpm workspaces) Set up PostgreSQL + Prisma with a basic initial schema (User, Account, Transaction) Implement JWT-based auth (register/login/refresh) Connect one working Plaid sandbox flow end-to-end: link token → token exchange → pull real sandbox transactions into the database Basic Docker setup for local development Handoff-ready code with a short README so we can continue building with you or another developer Future phases (not part of this task): Payment tracking/reminders, multi-channel notifications, household multi-user support, and eventually an AI-powered natural-language query feature over transaction data. Sharing this so you know the direction — not in scope now. Budget: Fixed price, $250. This is a starting task — strong work here leads to more, larger tasks as the project grows.
