React Native/Expo Developer (or Team) — AI-Coached Plant-Growing App with LLM included

Project Overview We're building a native iOS/Android app that guides beginners through the growth cycle for edible plants, with an integrated AI coaching layer. This is not a plant encyclopedia or generic tracker. We have complete, locked requirements (30+ page functional spec + product brief) and 30+ Figma screens already designed. We are not looking for product discovery — we need a technical partner (developer or small team) to scope, quote, and build against existing documentation. Tech Stack (already decided — please confirm you work in this stack) Mobile: React Native + Expo (TypeScript), one codebase for iOS + Android, EAS builds Backend: Node.js + MongoDB (or comparable document DB) Payments: RevenueCat (single seed unlock, monthly/yearly subscription) AI: Hybrid approach — a specialist plant/species classifier (e.g. Pl@ntNet or similar) + a multimodal LLM (Claude/GPT vision) as the coaching layer that turns classifier output + cycle context into beginner-friendly guidance Analytics/monitoring: Firebase Analytics, Sentry Admin/CMS: custom panel with draft/preview/publish and versioning for seed content (non-technical team should be able to add new seeds without a developer) Core Scope (MVP 1) Auth (Apple/Google/email), onboarding, 4-tab navigation (Home, Cycles, Explore, Profile) Seed library: 1 free seed, 5 locked seeds, 2 "coming soon," with paywall logic by user tier (guest/free/single-unlock/subscriber) Real payments via RevenueCat, push notifications, backend + admin CMS with versioning Full functional requirements and product brief documents will be shared with shortlisted candidates under NDA. What We Need From You A written technical proposal against our existing requirements doc (not a generic estimate) Clear breakdown: mobile app, backend, AI orchestration/proxy, admin CMS, QA, timeline Experience with photo/vision-based AI features in a production mobile app (not just chatbot integrations) Experience with subscription/entitlement logic (RevenueCat or equivalent) Team composition: who specifically will work on this (not just the profile applying) What to Include in Your Application Relevant past projects — ideally something with recurring engagement loops (cycles, streaks, subscriptions) and/or AI photo analysis Your proposed team structure and estimated timeline for an MVP of this scope A rough budget range (we already have two agency quotes for comparison, so we need this to be realistic, not a placeholder) Confirmation you work natively in React Native + Expo + Node.js/MongoDB (not Flutter/native-only, not .NET) We're comparing several development partners in parallel and will move quickly with whoever demonstrates the clearest technical understanding of the AI coaching architecture and CMS/versioning requirements.
