Senior AI Systems Architect Needed to Build Advanced Business AI Platform

We are looking for an exceptional **Senior AI Systems Architect / AI Agent Engineer** to help us design and build a sophisticated AI-powered business operating system. This is **not a basic chatbot or simple automation project**. We want to build an intelligent system that can connect with different parts of a business, continuously understand what is happening, monitor performance, identify problems, track goals, and provide leadership with actionable information. The long-term vision is for the AI to work across areas such as business operations, email, documents, financial information, KPIs, deadlines, compliance, workflows, employee/team performance, reporting, and other business software through APIs and integrations. The system should ultimately be able to answer questions such as: * How is the business performing today? * What changed? * What requires attention? * Where are we falling behind? * What deadlines or risks are approaching? * How are we performing against our KPIs? * How far are we from our business goals? * What should leadership prioritize next? We want more than a dashboard. We want an **intelligent operational layer** that can analyze information across the organization and eventually assist with appropriate workflows and actions. The first implementation will be for one operating business. However, the architecture should be designed so the underlying platform can eventually support **multiple separate businesses**, each with its own data, integrations, knowledge, users, permissions, goals, and workflows. ### Experience We're Looking For Strong experience with several of the following is important: * AI agents and agentic workflows * OpenAI API / modern LLM development * RAG and knowledge retrieval * Tool calling and AI orchestration * API integrations * Python * Databases and data architecture * Email and document integrations * Workflow automation * Business intelligence * Cloud infrastructure * Authentication and role-based permissions * Audit logging and monitoring * Multi-tenant architecture * AI reliability/evaluation * Security and sensitive-data handling Experience with healthcare, HIPAA, financial, compliance-heavy, or other regulated environments is a major plus. ### What We Are NOT Looking For We are not looking for someone whose experience is limited to basic ChatGPT wrappers, simple chatbots, or basic Zapier automations. We need someone capable of thinking at the **systems architecture level** and eventually helping turn a large business vision into a reliable production platform. ### First Step We intentionally are not publishing every detail of the system publicly. The first step will be a **paid discovery/architecture engagement** with selected candidates. We will explain our business, current systems, workflows, data sources, and long-term vision during a call. We want you to listen to what we are trying to accomplish, ask the right questions, and help us determine: * How the system should be architected * What should and should not use AI * Recommended technology stack * Integration strategy * Data architecture * Security and permission structure * Development phases * What should be built first * Estimated timeline and cost * Major technical risks If there is a strong fit, this can develop into a significant implementation project and potentially a long-term relationship as the platform expands. ### Important We want the company to maintain appropriate ownership and control of the custom platform and project deliverables. Production repositories, infrastructure, databases, and primary service accounts should ultimately remain under company control. We also want the ability to expand and reuse the platform across multiple businesses rather than rebuilding the entire system every time. ### When Applying Please keep your proposal concise.
