Senior Data Migration Lead / Data Migration Manager

ASO Systems is seeking an experienced Senior Data Migration Lead / Data Migration Manager to lead or support the migration of legacy data into a modern enterprise software platform. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with SQL, relational databases, ETL processes, data mapping, identity deduplication, data validation, and production migration cutovers. This role requires experience migrating complex person, membership, or customer records, including related transactions, historical records, and documents. Depending on project responsibilities, the selected candidate will either lead migration execution or provide platform-side migration support while the customer performs migration activities. Key Responsibilities • Lead data migration planning, source analysis, mapping, transformation, validation, and execution. • Analyze legacy databases, data structures, relationships, and data quality issues. • Develop source-to-target data mapping specifications and migration procedures. • Design and implement repeatable ETL/ELT processes for migrating records and associated documents. • Identify and resolve duplicate identities, inconsistent records, missing data, and migration exceptions. • Establish deterministic identifiers and preserve relationships between migrated records. • Perform source-to-target reconciliation of record counts, financial or other relevant values, and data relationships. • Develop automated data validation, exception reporting, and reconciliation processes. • Coordinate migration activities with software architects, database engineers, developers, QA teams, and customer stakeholders. • Conduct complete migration rehearsals using representative and full datasets as required. • Identify and distinguish source-data issues from transformation, loading, and platform defects. • Support fresh-data production cutover, migration verification, and formal customer acceptance. • Maintain migration logs, exception records, reconciliation reports, and audit evidence. • Support legacy system closure, data retention, and post-migration reconciliation. Required Qualifications • 7+ years of data migration, data engineering, database development, or data conversion experience preferred. • Mandatory: Proven hands-on experience delivering production data migrations involving person, member, or customer identities and dependent records or documents. • Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases. • Experience with data mapping, transformation, ETL/ELT development, and data validation. • Demonstrated experience identifying duplicate records and managing data quality exceptions. • Experience migrating related records while preserving referential integrity and historical relationships. • Proven ability to conduct repeatable, complete migration rehearsals. • Experience reconciling source-to-target record counts, values, and relationships. • Direct experience supporting fresh-data production cutover and migration acceptance. • Ability to investigate and distinguish source-data problems from transformation, loading, or application defects. • Experience documenting migration outcomes, exceptions, and customer sign-off evidence. • Strong communication, technical troubleshooting, and cross-functional coordination skills. • Availability for critical migration rehearsals, production cutover, reconciliation, and post-migration closure activities.
