Hi, I’m looking for an experienced WordPress/WooCommerce developer to help with a number of improvements to an established ecommerce website (sorry for the length of this discription) This is not a rebuild or a large development project. The website is established, operating and generating sales. Most of what I need is improving, fixing and building on what is already there. I’m looking for an individual freelancer rather than an agency, ideally with **5–10+ years of WordPress/WooCommerce experience** and strong examples of previous ecommerce work. I’d like to start with a few relatively straightforward items and, if we work well together, continue with additional projects and ongoing support: www.calisupersoil.com The work falls into three general areas: ## Step 1 – Immediate Fixes & Site Support There are a handful of things on the existing site that need attention: * Restore/update the homepage video * Restore product-specific videos that are no longer displaying correctly * Fix WooCommerce/customer email notifications * Troubleshoot a few existing site issues * Review basic site stability and performance * Make sure future updates and changes can be made cleanly without creating additional problems I don’t believe these are major projects. I’m looking for someone experienced who can quickly understand the existing setup, identify what is causing the issues and fix them properly. ## Step 2 – Product & Checkout Improvements Once the immediate items are addressed, I want to make some improvements to the customer shopping experience. The main objective is to make our product pages feel **less like a catalog and more informative and engaging** — helping customers understand what the products do, which product is right for them and how to use it. Much of the design direction, imagery and product content has already been developed. I’m looking for someone who can work with what we have, offer practical input where appropriate, and implement it properly. This will include: * Improving key product pages * Better presentation of product information, imagery and video * Improving product selection/navigation * Improving the mobile experience where needed * Making practical improvements to the cart and checkout process * Reducing unnecessary checkout friction * Improving cross-sell/upsell opportunities where they make sense This is not intended to be a full website redesign. We will identify specific improvements and scope them individually. ## Step 3 – CRM & Customer Retention The third area I’d like to address over time is improving how we use our existing customer database and email/CRM platform. This may include: * Improving WooCommerce/CRM integration * Customer segmentation * Post-purchase email flows * Reorder and replenishment emails * Cross-sell and upsell sequences * Abandoned-cart/customer recovery * Establishing a more consistent customer communication cadence Again, this will be handled and scoped separately once the initial website work is completed. ## Who I’m Looking For I’m looking for a **senior, hands-on WordPress/WooCommerce developer**, rather than a junior designer or someone whose experience is primarily working with page builders and templates. I want someone who is comfortable working on both the front and back end and, importantly, knows how to troubleshoot an existing site. I’m deliberately looking for someone experienced because I want things done correctly the first time — not because I’m looking to turn relatively straightforward fixes into large development projects. Just as importantly, I’m looking for someone who is **friendly, responsive and easy to work with**. I prefer a collaborative relationship where we can discuss an issue, agree on a practical solution and get it done without making every small change overly complicated. Ideally, you will have: * 5–10+ years of WordPress/WooCommerce experience * Strong front-end and back-end skills * Good troubleshooting/debugging ability * Experience working with established/live ecommerce websites * Experience with WooCommerce checkout and integrations * Site performance/stability experience * Some experience with CRM/email integrations * Good communication * A practical, solutions-focused approach * An interest in an ongoing working relationship **Individual freelancers only – no agencies.** I’m happy to work with someone anywhere in the world. You do not need to be US-based. Experience, quality of work, reliability and communication are much more important to me than location. ## When Applying Please keep your response relatively simple. I’d like to see: * 2–3 examples of WooCommerce websites you have personally worked on * A brief explanation of what you actually did on those sites * How many years you have been working professionally with WordPress/WooCommerce * Whether you personally handle both front-end and back-end work * Your normal hourly rate * Your general availability Please don’t send me a long generic proposal or a list of 30 websites. I’m much more interested in seeing **a few strong examples of your own work** and understanding what you personally contributed. ## How We’ll Start I’d like to start small. We’ll begin with a few of the items in Step 1, agree on the scope and cost, complete those, and see how we work together. If it’s a good fit, we can then work through the additional items in Steps 2 and 3 over time. Ultimately, I’m looking for a good developer I can rely on for ongoing WordPress/WooCommerce support as the business and website continue to evolve.
