Astro + Tailwind CSS Expert Needed to Rebuild a WordPress Website into a Fast Static Website

Zoo Computer Repairs is a computer repair business based in Queensland. Our website, zoorepairs.com.au, runs on WordPress with an old theme and a pile of plugins, and we want to get off it. We're after an experienced Astro and Tailwind CSS developer to rebuild the site as a fast, static website that ranks well in search. We don't want a database, an admin panel, or a stack of plugins to keep patched. We want plain HTML pages that load quickly, are easy to update, and give attackers very little to work with. Ideally having a WYSUWUG editor on top and hooked up to payload or strapi (I have both hosted on railway) Tech stack Astro Tailwind CSS What we want from the rebuild The site has to be fast. We're aiming for strong Core Web Vitals scores on mobile as well as desktop. It should look modern and professional and work properly on phones, since most of our customers find us on their phone while their computer is broken. The code should be clean enough that another developer could pick it up later without a week of detective work. Scope of work Recreate all the main pages from the current site in Astro. You can keep the existing design or improve on it. Build reusable components so that service pages and suburb pages share one layout. The site needs to work well on desktop, tablet, and mobile. Due to the amount of pages - there are tools that you can export word press to static sites to that may help as alot of pages are just the name of the suburb + computer repairs. Front end. Style everything with Tailwind. Phone numbers should be click-to-call, and the contact and booking details should be easy to find on every page. Performance. Optimise all images, serve them as WebP or AVIF, and lazy load anything below the fold. Keep CSS and JS small. SEO requirements Moving off WordPress can't cost us rankings. The new site needs: Clean URLs and a sensible heading structure (one H1 per page) A meta title and description on every page Open Graph tags and canonical URLs An XML sitemap and robots.txt LocalBusiness schema, plus other schema types where they fit (services, FAQs, reviews) Alt text on every image Crawlable HTML that doesn't depend on JavaScript to render content Migration Keep existing URLs wherever you can. Where a URL has to change, set up a 301 redirect. Before launch, we'll want a list of every old URL and where it now points. Bring across the content and images worth keeping. Leave the WordPress theme files, plugins, PHP, and database behind. Hosting We have liquid web currently which was mainly used for wordpress but I also have Railway and Github, if there are any alternatives that would be great. Security No website is unhackable, but a static site removes most of the ways WordPress sites get compromised. The finished site should have no backend we don't need, no database, no public login page, and as few third-party dependencies as possible. Skills we're looking for You'll need proven experience with Astro and Tailwind CSS, along with solid JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. You should understand technical SEO and Core Web Vitals, and have moved at least one site from WordPress to a modern framework. Local business or service-area sites are a plus.
