iOS/Android Developer to Package & Ship a Consumer App MVP

Job description I'm building a consumer mobile app for iOS and Android and need a developer to build the MVP. This is early-stage: I want a working, stable app for a small group of testers, not a polished, market-ready build. Simple and reliable beats fancy — please don't over-engineer. What the app is (high level) A swipe-based consumer app: users create a profile, then swipe through a personalized deck of cards and take an action on the ones they like. Behind it, a backend gathers and organizes information from many external online sources, ranks it for each user based on their profile, and uses an AI API to generate tailored text for them. I'll share the specific details after we connect and sign a short NDA — standard, quick, nothing heavy. Current state I already have a working web-based version (Python/Flask backend + PostgreSQL database + a mobile-style JavaScript front-end, deployed on a cloud host). The core works. I need it turned into a real mobile app on the App Store and Google Play, and finished to MVP. What I need done (MVP scope) 1. Package the existing app into native iOS + Android apps. I'm open to a Capacitor/Ionic wrap of the current front-end (the fast, cost-effective path) unless you recommend better for an MVP. Deliver builds installable via TestFlight (iOS) and Play internal testing (Android). 2. Make it stable and smooth on real phones — fix bugs, handle offline and error states cleanly, make sure the swipe flow feels good on a touchscreen. 3. Backend check + fixes. Confirm the backend, database, and AI integration are set up correctly; fix issues in the core flow (sign up → profile → swipe → action). 4. Add email verification on sign-up (simple, standard). 5. Help me get it into TestFlight / Play internal testing so I can invite my testers. Note: I'm NOT looking for a from-scratch native rebuild (Swift/Kotlin) for this MVP. Reuse what already exists unless there's a strong reason not to — and if you think there is, tell me why in your proposal. Skills you need ● Shipping mobile apps to the App Store + Google Play (TestFlight, provisioning, store review) — this is the most important one ● Capacitor or Ionic (or React Native, if you're proposing a rebuild) ● JavaScript (the existing front-end) ● Python + Flask + PostgreSQL (the backend you'll check and fix) ● REST APIs and AI API integration (Anthropic / OpenAI style) ● Comfortable working in an existing codebase, not just building from scratch What you'll get ● A walkthrough of the code and a test/staging copy to work in, after a short NDA. ● I will not share production passwords, API keys, the live database, or full product details up front — those come once we've started working together and I trust your work.
