# Mobile iOS App Developer — React Native / Expo We are looking for an experienced **React Native / Expo Developer** to develop and maintain an iOS mobile application with subscriptions, backend integrations, asynchronous processing, and AI-powered features. The project involves building a production-ready consumer mobile app where users interact with AI functionality, submit data/photos for processing, purchase subscriptions through Apple In-App Purchases, and receive results generated asynchronously by backend and AI services. ## Responsibilities - Develop and maintain an **iOS application using React Native and Expo** - Build responsive, polished mobile UI based on provided designs - Implement **Apple In-App Purchases and subscriptions** - Integrate the app with REST APIs and backend services - Implement authentication, user sessions, and account management - Handle **asynchronous backend tasks**, including: - Starting long-running processing jobs - Tracking job status - Polling or receiving task completion updates - Displaying loading/progress/error states - Retrieving and presenting generated results - Integrate **AI-powered functionality**, including: - LLM/chat APIs - Image analysis and processing - AI image generation - Structured AI-generated recommendations/results - Implement photo upload, camera/photo-library access, and image handling - Implement push notifications where required - Handle network failures, retries, API errors, and edge cases - Implement analytics and event tracking - Prepare and maintain production builds through **Expo EAS** - Support TestFlight testing and App Store releases - Debug production issues and continuously improve application stability and performance ## Required Experience - Strong commercial experience with **React Native** - Strong experience with **Expo / EAS** - Experience shipping production **iOS apps to the App Store** - Experience implementing **Apple In-App Purchases / subscriptions** - Strong TypeScript / JavaScript knowledge - Experience integrating REST APIs - Experience with authentication and secure token/session management - Experience working with asynchronous backend workflows - Experience with image upload and processing flows - Good understanding of mobile application architecture, state management, caching, and networking - Experience handling complex loading, error, retry, and background states - Strong debugging and problem-solving skills - Comfortable working with Git and modern development workflows ## Highly Desirable Experience with one or more of the following will be a strong advantage: - **RevenueCat** or similar subscription infrastructure - OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Replicate, or other AI APIs - AI image generation / transformation APIs - Firebase - Supabase - Sentry - PostHog, Amplitude, Mixpanel, AppsFlyer, or similar analytics platforms - Push notifications - Deep links / universal links - App Store subscription/paywall optimization - Consumer subscription apps - Apps with AI-generated content or image-processing workflows ## Backend & AI Integration You will not necessarily be responsible for developing the entire backend, but you should be comfortable working closely with backend APIs and understanding workflows such as: **Mobile App → API → Background Task → AI Provider → Backend → Mobile App** Some AI operations may take significant time to complete, so the app needs to handle asynchronous jobs reliably without assuming that every API request returns an immediate result. ## What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who can take ownership of mobile development rather than simply implement isolated screens. You should be comfortable making practical architectural decisions, identifying edge cases, debugging API/backend integration issues, and delivering features from specification through production release.
