Keppt — Product Hunt Launch Specialist
Engagement type: Fixed-price, milestone-based, single-launch scope
Timeline: ~3 weeks from kickoff to launch day + 1 week post-launch
Budget range: $500–2,000 fixed
Client: Fixonal PTE. LTD. (Singapore) — indie mobile/SaaS studio
THE PRODUCT
Keppt is a cross-platform AI-powered document catalogue for a person's life paperwork — IDs, contracts, policies, medical records, warranties, tax forms, certificates, receipts. AI extracts fields automatically, files documents into Libraries and Collections, surfaces what's relevant today (renewals, expiries), and answers plain-language questions with source citations. Explicitly not Dropbox — active/intelligent, not passive storage.
Live at: keppt.me (marketing site, web app usable)
Platforms at launch: iPhone, iPad, Android, macOS, Web (Flutter monorepo). Windows deferred.
Business model: Freemium subscription (RevenueCat). Free 10 docs; Basic $4.99/mo or $49.99/yr; Unlimited $12.99/mo or $129.99/yr; Unlimited Family $19.99/mo.
Brand voice: Calm, plain-English, British spelling, product-first. Emotional pillars: trustworthy, permanent, quietly competent, personal, long-arc.
Differentiators: Cross-platform (rare in category), user-chosen data residency (US/EU/APAC), explicit no-training commitment on user documents, real AI extraction (not just OCR), Ask-with-source-citations, live web app you can try instantly.
Competitors: Evernote, Notion, Apple Files/Notes, Rewind, Shoeboxed, Expensify, 1Password.
Constraint: Fixonal's brand family is deeply anti-tracking. No paid pixels, no analytics SDKs, no engagement dark patterns. That constraint applies to launch tactics.
WHAT WE'RE HIRING FOR
A specialist who has personally launched multiple products on Product Hunt (as maker, launch coordinator, or hunter) and can:
1. Coordinate launch-day execution — timing, hunter selection (if appropriate), gallery order, tagline optimization, first-comment strategy, category selection.
2. Mobilize a pre-launch audience — subscribers, waitlist warming, early-morning upvote mobilization from your existing network of PH-active makers and users.
3. Manage the first 24 hours — active comment engagement, upvote tracking, tactical responses to competing launches, escalation if the Product Hunt algorithm behaves unexpectedly.
4. Set realistic expectations — you tell us honestly what a #1 / top 5 / top 10 outcome looks like for a product in our category and what it takes to hit each tier.
Not hiring for: generic growth hacking, follower-building, "viral" tactics, buying upvotes, engagement pods, or anything that violates PH's guidelines.
DELIVERABLES (MILESTONE STRUCTURE)
Milestone 1 — Pre-launch audit and plan (Week 1)
- Review of our drafted PH launch pack (gallery, tagline options, first comment, product description). Marked-up feedback with rewrites where needed.
- Recommended launch date (with reasoning on day-of-week, competing launches to avoid, seasonal considerations).
- Recommended hunter (or "self-hunt with these specifics" recommendation with reasoning).
- Pre-launch waitlist/email strategy for the 1–2 weeks before launch.
- Written go/no-go criteria for launch readiness.
Milestone 2 — Launch execution (Week 3)
- Live coordination during the launch day (asynchronous availability across US/EU/APAC hours or clear plan for coverage).
- First-comment posting at launch and continued engagement through the first 12 hours.
- Real-time tactical decisions on gallery order, tagline tweaks, community response.
- End-of-day report: rank, upvote count, comment count, signup count, notable learnings.
Milestone 3 — Post-launch (Week 4)
- 48-hour follow-up: leverage of PH momentum into other channels (Twitter/X, LinkedIn, newsletters).
- Written post-mortem: what worked, what didn't, what to do differently for future launches.
- List of connections made during launch worth maintaining.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU IN YOUR PROPOSAL
1. Portfolio — 3+ specific PH launches you personally worked on. Product name, launch date, final rank, and (if available) rough signup or install number. We will verify these.
2. Methodology — walk us through your standard PH launch playbook in 5–10 bullets. We want to see how you think, not just what you charge.
3. One thing you would change about keppt.me before launch — real feedback, not flattery. This is a filter.
4. Any experience with cross-platform mobile SaaS launches — Keppt is Flutter across iOS/Android/macOS/Web + freemium subscription.
5. Your availability during the launch day itself — asynchronous is fine but we need a clear timezone coverage plan (Singapore, US, Europe).
6. Rate and milestone breakdown — fixed-price total plus how you'd split it across the three milestones.
HIRING APPROACH
- Fixed-price, milestone-based, funded through Upwork escrow.
- Payments released on completion of each milestone.
- We reserve the right to pause or terminate after Milestone 1 if the pre-launch audit reveals a fit issue.
- Weekly async check-ins, one 30-min sync call per milestone.
- All work product delivered as markdown or Google Docs.
Proposals missing portfolio, methodology, or the "one thing you'd change" answer are auto-declined.
