Senior Data Engineer — Retail Technology Company: DrwRetailFusion Position: Senior Data Engineer Employment Type: Full-Time Work Arrangement: Remote / Hybrid Industry: Retail Technology About the Role DrwRetailFusion is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help build reliable data platforms for modern retail operations. You will design and maintain data pipelines that support sales, inventory, customer activity, product data, and business reporting. You will work closely with software engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders. This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys solving large data problems and building systems that can grow with the business. Responsibilities Design and build scalable data pipelines for retail data Develop batch and real-time data processing workflows Build data models for sales, inventory, products, and customer activity Integrate data from APIs, databases, files, and third-party systems Improve data quality, accuracy, and reliability Optimize data processing and storage costs Build monitoring and alerting for data pipelines Support analytics and business intelligence teams Develop automated data validation and testing Document data pipelines, models, and technical processes Review code and mentor other engineers Help define data architecture and engineering standards Technical Requirements 5+ years of professional data engineering experience Strong Python and SQL skills Experience building production data pipelines Strong experience with relational databases Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP Experience with data warehouses or data lakes Experience with ETL/ELT systems Experience with APIs and third-party data integrations Strong understanding of data modeling Experience with Git and CI/CD Strong problem-solving and communication skills Preferred Experience Retail or e-commerce experience Experience with AWS services such as S3, Lambda, Glue, Redshift, or EMR Experience with Kafka or other streaming platforms Experience with Spark or similar distributed processing tools Experience with Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks Experience with Airflow or similar workflow tools Experience with Terraform or other infrastructure tools Experience building real-time analytics systems What We Offer Competitive compensation Remote-friendly work environment Flexible schedule Opportunity to work on large-scale retail data systems High ownership and technical responsibility Opportunity to influence data architecture Collaborative engineering culture Professional growth opportunities
