Senior Full-Stack Engineer for URL Redirect Platform

We are looking for a senior backend or full-stack engineer to build a fast and reliable internal URL redirect platform. The platform is for our own internal use only. It will not be sold as SaaS and does not require public customer accounts, billing or commercial platform functionality. We currently use Switchy.io and need a purpose-built solution without monthly click limits. Core functionality - Redirect links and traffic distribution - Create and manage redirect links using our own domains - Editable custom slugs, for example: go.domain.com/sleep - Up to 100 destination URLs per redirect link - Manually configurable traffic percentages for each destination - Support precise percentage values such as 1.35677% - Destinations can remain saved with 0% traffic - Any remaining unallocated traffic must be distributed automatically across destinations configured for automatic allocation - Every click must be routed independently, with no sticky destination assignment - Destination URLs and percentages must be editable at any time - All changes must go live immediately - Redirect links can be paused without being deleted - One configurable global fallback URL for invalid, paused or failed links - Tracking pixels The platform must support globally configured: - Meta Pixel - TikTok Pixel - Google tag or tracking pixel Requirements: - Multiple tracking pixels can run simultaneously - Standard PageView events are sufficient - Pixels must be easy to add, edit and remove through the dashboard - Tracking must add as little redirect delay as technically possible - The redirect experience must feel immediate and smooth Applicants should explain how they would implement browser-based tracking while minimizing redirect latency. Deep linking Deep linking is required for: - Spotify - highest priority - Apple Music - YouTube The selected playlist or destination should open directly inside the relevant installed app whenever supported. If the app is not installed, or app opening is unavailable in the current browser or device, the destination must open reliably in the web browser. Incoming tracking parameters must not be appended to the final Spotify, Apple Music or YouTube destination URLs. Custom domains - Support approximately 5-10 custom domains - Add, edit and remove domains through the dashboard - Automate domain connection, verification and SSL provisioning wherever technically possible - When DNS changes require manual action, show the exact required records and current domain status clearly in the dashboard Internal dashboard The dashboard must be minimal, fast and easy to navigate. Required areas: - Redirect links - Workspaces or categories - Custom domains - Tracking pixels - Team members - Global settings Required analytics: - Total valid clicks for each redirect link No advanced analytics dashboard is required. Team access - Support multiple internal team members - All team members can create, edit and manage everything - Secure authentication - No complex permission hierarchy is required - Bot and invalid traffic protection - Detect and block malicious, fake and automated click traffic before redirecting - Blocked traffic must not be redirected - Blocked traffic must not count toward click totals - Legitimate Meta, TikTok, Google and other required platform crawlers must be handled correctly Performance and reliability Current traffic: - Approximately 1.2-1.5 million clicks per month Required initial capacity: - At least 15 million clicks per month The system must provide: - Very low redirect latency - High availability - Edge caching or a comparable low-latency architecture - No slow database query in the critical path of every redirect - Safe and immediate configuration updates - Monitoring and error logging - Reliable fallback behavior during temporary infrastructure or configuration failures Preferred technical experience Relevant experience may include: - Cloudflare Workers or comparable edge infrastructure - TypeScript - High-volume backend systems - Weighted traffic routing - Edge caching - React or another suitable dashboard framework - Mobile deep linking - Meta, TikTok and Google tracking integrations - Custom domains and automated SSL - Bot detection and rate limiting - Monitoring, testing and production deployments Cloudflare is preferred, but we are open to another architecture if it offers a clear technical advantage. Ownership and delivery All infrastructure must be created and hosted in accounts owned by us, including: - Source-code repository - Cloud infrastructure - Domains - Database - Deployment pipeline - Tracking credentials The completed project must include: - Full source code and IP ownership - Production deployment - Automated tests - Technical documentation - Deployment and recovery documentation - Monitoring setup - Complete handover - Application questions Please answer the following questions: 1. What architecture would you recommend for supporting at least 15 million monthly redirects with very low latency? 2. How would you implement Meta, TikTok and Google browser tracking while keeping redirects as close to instant as possible? 3. How would you implement reliable Spotify app deep linking with web fallback across iOS, Android and different browsers? 4. How would you detect automated or fraudulent traffic without incorrectly blocking legitimate advertising-platform crawlers? 5. Describe the production systems you have built that are most relevant to this project and explain how that experience applies. This may include edge infrastructure, high-volume backend systems, routing, ad-tech or tracking systems, custom-domain platforms, deep linking, or other technically comparable work. 6. What would you use as the main technology stack, and why? 7. Provide your proposed fixed price, estimated delivery time and earliest available start date. We are looking for one strong senior engineer who can take ownership of the architecture, implementation, testing and production launch.
