Avanorix Systems, LLC is building a portfolio of small acquired SaaS and digital businesses. We are looking for a technical specialist who can support us on a recurring basis as we evaluate, acquire, transfer, and stabilize these businesses.
This is NOT primarily a software development role. We are looking for someone who can represent the buyer during technical due diligence and help us understand exactly what we are acquiring, what risks exist, what will be required to transfer the business, and what technical issues may need to be corrected after acquisition.
Our immediate opportunities include SaaS products using technologies such as:
• Next.js / React
• Supabase / PostgreSQL
• Vercel
• GitHub
• Stripe
• REST/API integrations
• OpenAI, Anthropic and other AI APIs
• Railway / cloud workers
• Third-party SaaS services
Typical Engagement
Before an acquisition, we may ask you to participate in a live technical walkthrough with the seller and review the product, codebase, architecture, infrastructure, database, integrations and deployment environment.
We would expect you to help us:
• Verify that the codebase and production application are complete and functional
• Review architecture and identify significant technical debt
• Identify security vulnerabilities or concerning practices
• Review authentication, permissions, database security and secrets/API-key handling
• Identify third-party services, APIs and dependencies
• Determine which accounts/assets can be transferred and which must be recreated
• Verify hosting, database and infrastructure requirements
• Identify ongoing operating costs that a new owner will inherit
• Review payment/subscription integrations when applicable
• Identify anything that could prevent a clean transfer to buyer-controlled accounts
• Estimate the effort and approximate cost to correct material issues
• Help us distinguish serious risks from issues that are inexpensive and straightforward to fix
After the review, we would like a short written assessment in straightforward business language covering:
1. What you reviewed
2. Material technical risks
3. Transfer risks or dependencies
4. Recommended corrections
5. Approximate effort/cost of important corrections
6. Your overall assessment: Proceed / Proceed With Conditions / Renegotiate / Do Not Proceed
For acquisitions that close, we may also engage you to assist with the technical transfer into buyer-controlled accounts, verify the transferred system, rotate credentials/secrets, establish backups, and help stabilize the product after ownership changes.
What We're Looking For
We are particularly interested in someone who:
• Has experience reviewing or inheriting existing SaaS applications
• Is comfortable working with unfamiliar codebases
• Understands SaaS architecture, databases, APIs, deployment and security
• Has strong experience with Next.js/React, Supabase/PostgreSQL, Vercel and GitHub
• Understands Stripe/payment integrations
• Can identify technical problems without automatically recommending that everything be rebuilt
• Can estimate the practical cost and difficulty of fixing problems
• Communicates technical findings clearly to a non-developer business owner
• Is comfortable speaking directly with sellers during technical walkthroughs
• Can remain objective and represent the buyer's interests
Acquisition or technical due-diligence experience is highly desirable but not required if you have strong experience auditing, repairing, transferring or taking over existing SaaS products.
Long-Term Opportunity
We are deliberately starting with small acquisitions, but this is intended to become an ongoing relationship.
As Avanorix acquires additional businesses, we would like to develop a trusted technical resource who becomes familiar with our acquisition standards and can support technical diligence, transfers, stabilization and occasional improvement projects across the portfolio.
For the first engagement, we expect to start with a relatively small SaaS technical review and seller walkthrough. We prefer a defined fixed-price scope for the initial diligence engagement.
When responding, please briefly tell us:
• Whether you have reviewed or taken over existing SaaS codebases before
• Whether you have performed buyer-side technical due diligence or similar technical assessments
• The first things you would examine when determining whether a small SaaS is technically safe to acquire
• Whether you are comfortable joining a live seller walkthrough
• How you normally communicate technical risks to a non-technical owner
• Your preferred pricing approach for a small initial diligence engagement
We value practical judgment over unnecessary complexity. We are not looking for someone whose first recommendation is to rebuild every application. We want someone who can tell us what is sound, what is not, what can reasonably be fixed, and what it would cost.
