AI Delivery Engineer (Full-Stack, AI-Driven Development)

I'm looking for a full-stack engineer to be the main developer on a build, using AI as the primary coding engine. This is not a traditional coding role. You will direct AI coding tools, Claude Code in particular, to do the heavy lifting, and your real value is the technical judgment to validate that what the AI produces is correct, secure, maintainable, and built to industry-leading practice. In short, the AI writes the code and you own the outcome. You turn requirements into precise, well-scoped instructions, you review everything the AI generates with a critical eye, and you catch the mistakes an AI confidently produces, hallucinated APIs, missed edge cases, weak encapsulation, and drift from the agreed architecture. The project is built in two stages. Stage one is the working frontend, built in weekly sessions with the client's team on stubbed data. Stage two is the backend behind it. You must be the kind of developer who instinctively knows where to check for issues and have the technical know how of what the correct solution is and how to fix it if AI goes awry. The engagement is part time, roughly ten hours a week to start and rising to about fifteen through the backend stage, starting mid-September and running to roughly the end of the year, with migration and cutover work continuing into the first quarter of 2027. A senior developer reviews the work and a DevOps resource owns the cloud account, you are not alone. What you will do - Break requirements into clear, small, verifiable tasks the AI can execute against, and test the results against the stated business rules - Build the frontend in React and TypeScript on a component library, then the backend and integrations behind it - Critically review all AI-generated code for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability, treating nothing as correct just because it runs - Deliver source code, configuration, and documentation into repositories the client controls, through our deployment scripts and conventions - Support system testing, user acceptance testing, and cutover to live operation Must-have qualifications - A technical degree or diploma in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related field - At least three years of professional full-stack experience, with real depth in React and TypeScript and comfort in SQL databases - Daily, fluent use of AI coding tools such as Claude Code, including how to give them the right context and how to sanity-check their output - Proven ability to read, review, and validate code you did not write, and to spot defects and design problems fast - Detailed oriented to catch dangerous bugs that looks right - Ability to work Pacific business hours - Native spoken and written English Nice to have - Hands-on AWS experience (compute, storage, serverless, deployment) - Prior exposure to quoting, costing, invoicing, or accounting software - Tailwind and shadcn or a comparable component system How we work - Remote, flexible hours around the Pacific overlap, focused on outcomes - You get clear direction, a senior reviewer, and defined stage gates, and we stay accountable for the client result - Strong potential for ongoing work across our client base for the right person To apply Please include the following in your proposal. - One project you built end to end, your specific role, and the stack you used - How you use Claude or other AI tools in your development, with one concrete example of something it helped you ship faster and one example of something it got wrong that you caught - Your AWS experience, if any Start your proposal with the word BUILDER so we know you read this post.
