AI-first operator for a CNC and millwork business

We're looking for an operator who already uses Codex and frontier models such as Claude 5.6 and Fable 5 for real work and also understands CNC, woodworking, or millwork. This role will help run the back office almost entirely with AI. One part of the job is refining prototypes that turn raw prospect emails into CAD, sheet nesting, CNC toolpaths, and quotes. Another part is managing roughly 25 inbound leads each week, keeping the pipeline organized, following up, and improving how the business handles the work. At first, much of the work will be AI development. Over time, the balance will shift toward operating and improving the systems you helped build. The work will change often, so you need to be comfortable figuring things out without a detailed playbook. Basic chatbot experience is not enough. - Practical experience with CNC, woodworking, or millwork - Good operating judgment around customer requests, estimates, follow-up, and shop constraints - At least 3 hours of dependable overlap with the US Central Time workday Parametric CAD, CAM, Python, automation, and lead-management experience are useful. We will pay for a Codex Max subscription. This is an hourly contract with a firm maximum of US $20/hour. It can become ongoing work if the fit is good. Video calls will be a regular part of the work. You need a working camera, clear audio, and a stable enough connection for live working sessions. If you cannot reliably join video calls, this role will not work.
