AI-Native React & Next.js Developer for business apps

We are looking for a front-end developer to help turn business ideas into polished UI mock-ups and production-ready web applications. Our immediate project is a customer-facing portal for an established business. After that, the work will span bespoke applications and hybrid SaaS products across several industries. We care more about what you can create, how quickly you learn and how much ownership you take than qualifications, job titles or years of experience. You might be an experienced professional, an ambitious early-career developer or part of a small collaborative group producing excellent work. The quality of the delivery is what matters. What makes the work different? We are not looking for someone who only completes narrowly defined tickets. You should be comfortable receiving a rough description of a business, its users and a problem, then turning it into something tangible that moves the conversation forward. A strong response to a mock-up brief might include: * A working preview deployed to Vercel, Netlify or an equivalent service * Appropriate branding and visual direction * A coherent user journey, not just one isolated screen * Loading, empty, success and error states * Useful features or improvements that were not explicitly requested * A short explanation of your assumptions and recommendations * Honest identification of anything that still needs clarification We value people who think independently, challenge ideas constructively and take the extra step without needing to be asked. What you will do * Turn rough ideas into convincing interactive UI mock-ups * Build production-quality responsive web applications * Develop with React, Next.js, TypeScript and Tailwind CSS * Select and use appropriate UI component libraries * Create reusable components and consistent design systems * Integrate front ends with real APIs, authentication and application data * Deploy previews so progress can be reviewed quickly * Collaborate through GitHub, Jira, MS Teams and email * Use Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or similar coding agents extensively * Write effective prompts and coordinate agents across development tasks * Review, understand and verify AI-generated code * Test interfaces across devices, browsers and user states * Implement proportionate component, integration and end-to-end testing * Communicate progress, decisions and blockers clearly * Suggest better approaches when the original idea can be improved * Respond to urgent problems affecting live systems you have developed Our established environment Frameworks already uses: * Sentry for monitoring and error reporting * Supabase * GitHub * Firebase * Cloudflare for edge services, hosting and security You do not need deep expertise in every platform on day one. You should be comfortable integrating with established services, learning quickly and deciding which platform should own each concern. What we are looking for * Strong written and spoken English * Evidence of building polished responsive web applications * Strong React and modern front-end development skills * Experience with Next.js, TypeScript and Tailwind CSS * Ability to integrate real APIs, authentication and application data * Strong AI prompting and AI-assisted development skills * Ability to debug and verify generated code * Good visual judgement * Working knowledge of GitHub * Honest commercial estimates and time reporting * Availability for calls during UK working hours * Capacity for approximately 10 to 15 hours per week initially A computer science degree or extensive corporate experience is not required. You must, however, understand, debug, test and take responsibility for the code delivered with AI assistance. Evidence we value We are particularly interested in: * Personal applications, experiments or AI-built products * A GitHub history containing genuine projects * Products created without being instructed by an employer or client * Active interest in AI development tools and emerging workflows * Examples where you identified a missing feature or improved the brief * Evidence of independently turning an idea into a deployed product * Experience with Sentry, Supabase, PostgreSQL, Firebase or Cloudflare Exceptional initiative can outweigh limited commercial experience. How we use AI Frameworks will provide access to Claude Code, Codex or Cursor depending on the agreed workflow. We expect AI tools to be used heavily. You remain responsible for: * Understanding the implemented solution * Reviewing generated code * Testing the functionality * Checking security and maintainability * Identifying incorrect assumptions * Delivering a reliable result Starting an agent does not mean the task is complete. Work is complete when the result is understood, tested, reviewable and reliable. Engagement and budget * Approximately 10 to 15 hours per week initially * Long-term relationship for the right fit * Workload can increase as delivery capacity and trust grow * Regular calls for direction and feedback * Collaboration with other developers * Fixed-price projects and milestones preferred * Stronger overall value is preferred over automatically using the full budget * Rates and responsibility can grow with demonstrated value Commercial standard When preparing a fixed-price quote, provide: * Deliverables * Assumptions * Acceptance criteria * Estimated active effort * Delivery date * Exclusions and dependencies Billable development activity includes active planning, directing coding agents, reviewing output, coding, debugging, testing, documentation and communication. Unattended elapsed time while an agent runs is not automatically productive effort. Personal activities performed while an AI process runs should not be included in an effort estimate or used to justify a higher fixed price. If AI allows you to complete reliable work more quickly, that is a positive result. Faster delivery should lead to more work and greater earning potential. Communication expectations * Acknowledge important messages promptly, even when the full answer will follow later * Raise blockers as soon as they become apparent * Communicate delays before a deadline is missed * Keep updates concise, factual and action-oriented * Be honest about uncertainty * Avoid inflated technical explanations
