Back-End WordPress Developer

We're a technology staffing agency hiring a dedicated Back-End WordPress Developer for ongoing project work with our clients. Scope of work: Develop custom WordPress plugins and extend existing ones Build custom post types, taxonomies, meta fields, and admin functionality Develop and integrate REST APIs and third-party services (payment gateways, CRMs, email platforms) Write clean, secure PHP following WordPress coding standards Manage database structure and queries (MySQL) and optimize performance Handle WooCommerce customization where required Implement security hardening, caching, and site performance optimization Debug and fix issues across client sites Requirements: Strong PHP and MySQL with deep WordPress core knowledge (hooks, filters, actions) Proven custom plugin development experience REST API development and third-party integration experience WooCommerce development experience Understanding of WordPress security best practices Git version control Good written English and reliable communication during MENA working hours Engagement: Dedicated monthly retainer: USD 1,000/month Full-time commitment, ongoing (month-to-month) Remote
