Fix PrestaShop Error on Website

ITE DETAILS: • PrestaShop version: 1.6.1.23 • PHP version: 7.1.33 (built Nov 8, 2021), running as FPM via nginx • Hosting: IONOS Dedicated Server, Plesk control panel, Ubuntu 20.04 • Server kernel was recently patched (April 2025), which appears to have introduced a PCRE (regex library) version mismatch with the old PHP 7.1 build Confirmed the file smarty_internal_templatebase.php has its original modification date (July 3, 2021) — it isn’t corrupted or recently altered • Cleared all Smarty compile and cache folders (cache/smarty/compile and cache/smarty/cache) — did not resolve the issue • Confirmed PHP version has not changed recently (still 7.1.33) • This appears to be a known PCRE/regex compatibility issue between old Smarty (bundled with PrestaShop 1.6) and a newer system-level PCRE library WHAT I NEED: Please patch the regex in smarty_internal_templatebase.php (or update the compiled Smarty version) so it’s compatible with the current server’s PCRE library, restoring normal site + admin panel function. I have Plesk File Manager access and can make edits if you walk me through them, or I can give temporary access if needed. Thanks!
