Fractional / Part-Time CTO – Agentic AI Systems (EdTech + FinTech focus)

Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Fractional/Part-Time CTO to lead the technical vision, architectural scaling, and engineering strategy for our platform edtech/fintech app. You will oversee the delivery of scalable, highly secure EdTech and FinTech capabilities driven by complex Agentic AI workflows. You will work directly with leadership to guide our technical roadmap, ensure enterprise-grade security for financial/educational data, and optimize an established Python (Django) microservices and Next.js ecosystem. Core Responsibilities: Strategic AI Leadership: Architect and scale Agentic AI patterns, LLM orchestration, and RAG pipelines using Google Gemini 2.0, LangChain, and Vertex AI Vector Search. System & Microservices Architecture: Oversee high-throughput backend services handling async processing, vector embeddings, and real-time streaming. FinTech & EdTech Integration: Implement secure data handling, microservices isolation, compliance standards, and seamless user experiences across mobile and web platforms. Team Leadership & DevOps Guidance: Guide our engineering team on best practices for GCP deployment (Cloud Run), CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions), and containerization (Docker). Key Technical Qualifications: AI / Agentic Stack: Google Gemini 2.0 Flash, LangChain, Vertex AI Vector Search, textembedding-gecko, RAG architectures. Backend Microservices: Python 3.10+, Django / Django REST Framework, Django Channels (WebSockets), Celery, Redis 7, PostgreSQL 14/15. Frontend Ecosystem: Next.js 15 (React 19), TypeScript (strict mode), Tailwind CSS, React Query (TanStack), Zustand, PWA support. Cloud & Infrastructure: Google Cloud Platform (GCP Cloud Run, GCS, Cloud Speech/TTS), Docker, Docker Compose, GitHub Actions, Mixpanel. Auth & Integrations: JWT (simplejwt), Google OAuth, OpenAPI / Swagger. Preferred Experience: Proven track record as a CTO or Principal Architect delivering AI-driven EdTech or FinTech SaaS platforms. Deep knowledge of LLM agent behavior, tool calling, vector database optimization, and voice/document processing pipelines.
