Full Stack Developer – Python/FastAPI, SQL, Vue 3/TypeScript – Rules/Action System

We're looking for an experienced full stack developer to work on a project basis alongside our lead web developer, initially helping build a Rules / Action system within an existing production web application. About the Project: The Rules / Action system will allow the application to trigger automated actions based on configurable conditions. This is an established application with an existing architecture and codebase. Our lead developer will retain ownership of the overall architecture. You'll work closely with him to take ownership of well-defined pieces of the feature and implement them cleanly within the existing system. We're looking for someone who can get up to speed on an existing codebase, communicate well with another developer, and produce clean, maintainable code. Required Experience: Python & FastAPI -Production experience with Python and FastAPI -Building and working with REST APIs -Comfortable working within an existing backend architecture SQL / Microsoft SQL Server -Strong experience writing SQL by hand -Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server -Experience working with database schema changes TypeScript & Vue -Professional experience with TypeScript and Vue 3 -Experience with the Vue 3 Composition API -Component development and API integration -Familiarity with Pinia Existing Codebases & Collaboration -Comfortable getting up to speed on an established production application -Experience working alongside other developers using Git -Comfortable with code review and shared development workflows -Strong communication and ability to document your work Nice to Have -Familiarity with Celery, Alembic (SQLAlchemy), Redis, and Docker -Experience building rules engines, workflow automation, or condition/trigger-based systems -Experience with configurable business logic Engagement -Project-based / hourly contract -Part-time; hours will vary based on project needs -Potential for additional/ongoing development work if it's a good fit -You'll work directly with our lead developer, who will provide context on the existing application, architecture, and project requirements -Open to developers worldwide, but strong English communication and regular overlap with U.S. Eastern Time business hours are required.
