Senior Distributed Systems Engineer (TypeScript, Cloudflare Workers, Workflow Orchestration)

We are building a next-generation automation platform that combines workflow automation (similar to Zapier/n8n), AI decision making, and orchestration of web (playwright or desktop agents) and mobile agents (mostly android app awaiting jobs for actions to perform). (various tasks for nodes IE: pull up a website or app and perform certain actions such as like, follow, or others based on keywords, find similar users, assign work to nodes, retries, log failures etc) This is not a CRUD application. We are looking for someone who enjoys designing scalable backend systems, job schedulers, workflow engines, and distributed architectures. What You'll Build Automation Dashboard (Next.js) A modern web dashboard for: Connected devices Job queue management Workflow management Templates Live logs Screenshots Scheduling Analytics System health Workflow Builder We plan to build a visual workflow editor similar to: Zapier n8n Make.com Langflow We currently plan to use React Flow as the node-based editor. Examples of workflows: Webhook ↓ AI Score ↓ If Score greater than 90 ↓ Assign Android Device ↓ Wait ↓ Send SMS Each node represents reusable automation logic. Orchestration Engine Build the backend responsible for: Job scheduling Device assignment Queue management Heartbeats Priority scheduling Retry logic State machines Idempotent execution Timeouts Reassignment after disconnects Live device status Cloudflare Architecture We expect to leverage Cloudflare services wherever appropriate: Workers Durable Objects Queues D1 R2 The goal is to build a reliable distributed orchestration platform while keeping infrastructure simple.
