Senior Laravel Engineer – AI API Integrations & Web Development

Most real estate websites look the same and work the same — clunky search, outdated listings, zero intelligence. We're building something better. A modern property platform with smart AI features, clean UX, and a tech stack that can actually scale. Looking for a Laravel developer who wants to be part of this long-term. We've got a solid idea of what we want but we need someone who actually knows what they're doing to build it and stick around long-term. This isn't a "build it and disappear" kind of job. We've got at least a year of work planned out and probably more after that. The stack we're going with: Laravel 11 on the backend. Tailwind CSS for styling. For the frontend interactivity we're thinking Livewire + Alpine.js but honestly if you've got a strong case for Vue or Inertia.js we're open to hearing it. MySQL or Postgres — you tell us what makes more sense for this type of project. What we need built (starting stuff): Property listings with search and filters — location, price range, bedrooms, property type, all that Separate dashboards for buyers, sellers, and agents Agent/agency profiles Favorites, saved searches, email alerts when new properties match Admin panel so we can manage everything — listings, users, reported content Google Maps integration on listings Mobile responsive obviously, Tailwind makes this easy Role-based permissions — different users see different stuff Image uploads and galleries for properties Here's where it gets interesting — the AI stuff: We want to integrate some AI features and this is a big part of why we're hiring now. Stuff like: Listing description generator — agent puts in the basics (3 bed, 2 bath, renovated kitchen, whatever) and AI writes a proper listing description they can edit and publish. This alone will save agents hours. Smart recommendations — show buyers properties based on what they've been looking at, not just random stuff An AI chat widget on the site so visitors can ask questions about properties and get real answers instead of those terrible "leave your number and we'll call you" forms Natural language search — someone types "family home near good schools under 400k" and it actually works Maybe some market analysis stuff down the road — comparable properties, price trends by area We'll be using OpenAI or Claude API for this. If you've integrated either before that's a huge plus. What we're looking for in a developer: Someone who's actually built real apps in Laravel. Not someone who watched a Udemy course last month. We want to see live projects or repos — show us what you've built. You should be comfortable with: Writing clean, well-structured Laravel code (proper migrations, seeders, form requests, policies — not everything dumped in controllers) Frontend work with Tailwind — we don't want to hire a separate person for this API integrations — maps, payment gateways, AI APIs Git — we use it, you should too Communicating like a normal person — if something's going to take longer, just tell us Availability: We need someone who can commit 20-30 hours a week. More is fine if we're in a heavy sprint. Less than 20 won't work — we need consistent momentum. How we'll start: We'll give you a small paid test task first. Nothing crazy — just want to see your code quality and how you communicate before we commit to a longer engagement. If it goes well we move to weekly milestones and keep going. Budget: $15-40/hr depending on where you're based and what you bring to the table. If you're amazing and your rate is a bit higher, still apply — we'd rather pay more for someone who doesn't need hand-holding.
