I'm a YouTube content creator looking for a developer to build a small web app that picks a completely random Steam game based on user-set filters and reveals it with a loot-box-opening animation. How it functions 1. The user sets their filters: - Minimum and maximum number of Steam reviews - Rating: positive or negative games - Maximum game age (e.g. released within the last X years) - Minimum and maximum game price 2. The user clicks "Continue" and is taken to the mystery box. Clicking the box triggers an opening animation, and the randomly chosen game pops out (name, header image, and a link to its Steam page). 3. The game's first Steam trailer appears below as a preview and plays when clicked. Look and feel The website will be shown on screen in my YouTube videos, so it needs to look polished and engaging. I’m after a game-like presentation with a strong visual style, smooth transitions, and a box-opening moment that builds anticipation. It should look good when screen-recorded at 1080p and above. What I need - A backend that collects and stores Steam game data (review counts, rating, release date, trailers) and refreshes it on a schedule - A server endpoint that returns a random game matching the filters - A visually striking frontend with two stages: a filter screen first, then a "continue" button that takes you to the loot-box screen, where the box opens to reveal the game and trailer. - The box-opening animation (code-based is fine, e.g. CSS/GSAP/Lottie; I may supply custom artwork later) - Deployment to a host, with setup instructions Important - It's for my own use at first, but it will be featured in a video. I don't plan to show the web address, but mistakes happen, so it should be able to handle a sudden traffic spike (e.g. using cached data rather than calling Steam live on every click) - Steam's rate limits and CORS restrictions need handling properly - The code, domain and hosting accounts must be in my name, and the full source handed over at the end - Looking for low-cost hosting to begin with. Milestones (open to suggestions) 1. Steam data collection + database + random-pick endpoint 2. Frontend design with filters and trailer playback 3. Box animation, visual polish and deployment In your proposal, please include - Examples of past work involving external APIs and databases (Steam API experience is even better) - Examples of visually polished or animated websites you've built - Your suggested tech stack and where you'd host it - Your estimated timeline and price for each milestone - Start your proposal with the word "Lootbox" so I know you've read this
