Full-Stack Developer Needed for Existing Sports-Tech App — MVP and Future Development

Couch Coach — M1 Technical Brief & Future Development Project Overview Couch Coach is an existing football tactical-insights web application, originally built using Bolt.new. The immediate objective is to stabilise and refine the existing codebase, preserve the approved minimalist design and establish a reliable technical foundation for future development. M1 — Core Technical Requirements - Existing codebase: Assess and improve the original Bolt.new build in the owner's GitHub repository, avoiding an unnecessary rebuild. - Minimalist interface: Preserve the prominent stadium, compact horizontal match controls, small white pre-match preview box and larger white live tactical notebook. - Continuous speech-to-text: Reliable voice input using the browser's Web Speech API where appropriate, with automatic recovery, microphone permissions, clear error messages and Retry. - Match clock: First- and second-half START/STOP controls, PAUSE/RESUME and synchronisation against an agreed kickoff reference. - Timestamped observations: Correct routing of voice and typed notes, chronological display and timestamps reflecting when observations began. - Data retention and recovery: Preserve captured notes through page refreshes, temporary Wi-Fi interruptions and recognition failures, while preventing lost or duplicated observations. - Testing and handover: Demonstrate all six agreed acceptance tests and deliver a working application, maintainable source code, deployment instructions and a clear explanation of any remaining limitations. Proposed M1 terms: $500 fixed price, with an estimated delivery period of 1–2 weeks, subject to agreement on scope, funding and access to the source code and approved design. Future Development and Commercial Potential Couch Coach is intended to become more than a standalone match-notes tool. The longer-term vision is a commercially viable football product, with scope to develop a broader sports platform. Potential development includes European football fixtures, match predictions, leaderboards and a Fan League, with additional sports and features considered as the product and its market develop. The immediate M1 assignment is deliberately limited: stabilise the existing application, deliver the agreed functionality and provide a sound, maintainable technical foundation. Future features are not included in the M1 price or scope and would be discussed and agreed separately. However, this is also an opportunity to contribute to an early-stage product with room for meaningful technical and commercial growth. I am particularly interested in working with an engineer who thinks beyond completing isolated tasks: someone who can make sound engineering decisions, take ownership of the technology, contribute ideas about the product's direction and is interested in helping develop and commercialise it over time. If M1 goes well and there is mutual interest, there may be scope to explore a sustained working relationship and a more entrepreneurial role in the venture. Any such arrangement, including responsibilities, commitment and equity or other commercial terms, would be discussed separately and would not be assumed as part of this initial assignment. The immediate priority remains a reliable, demonstrable M1.
