Full-Stack Developer (Next.js/React + FastAPI) + QA Owner for Game Changing Software

We're a software company that needs to ship fast. Our backend engineer handles cloud, infra, and core services. We need someone who can own the frontend, contribute to the backend, write the specs we don't have, and QA everything that ships. Speed is everything here. If you're slow, this won't work. We want someone who moves fast, leverages AI tools to move faster, and has the time available to actually deliver. THE JOB Build frontend features in Next.js/React with TypeScript Build backend endpoints in FastAPI (Python) Own the QA process. Write tests. Review code. Catch bugs before they hit production. Work alongside our backend engineer on API design and integration THE STACK Frontend: Next.js, React, TypeScript Backend: FastAPI (Python) Database: PostgreSQL Infrastructure: AWS, Docker AI tools: You should be using Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or equivalent to move at the pace we need. If you're not leveraging AI to write, test, and debug faster, you're not fast enough for this role. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU Speed. This is the most important thing. We need someone who ships, not someone who deliberates. Time. We want someone with real availability. If you're juggling four other clients, this isn't the fit. Proficiency in both Next.js/React AND FastAPI. Not one or the other. Both. Strong opinions about QA and testing. You're owning that process. Ability to write clear specs. If you can't document what you're building, you can't build here. Proof of work. We want to see real things you've built. Not a resume. Actual shipped products, features, and components. WHAT WE'RE NOT LOOKING FOR Someone who only does frontend or only does backend Someone who needs detailed specs handed to them before they can start Someone who isn't using AI tools in their daily workflow A junior developer Someone who treats QA as an afterthought PRACTICAL DETAILS Remote. Any time zone. We care about output, not where you sit. Full-time preferred. 30+ hours/week minimum. Paid test project before the contract starts. We pay regardless of outcome.
