React Native CLI Developer Needed – Ride-Hailing App (API Integration & Bug Fixes)

You have not worked with React Native CLI We are looking for an experienced React Native CLI developer to help complete our two existing ride-hailing applications: Rider and Captain. Both applications are in their final stages of development, with most features and functionality already implemented. They share similar codebases, architecture, and functionality, allowing common implementations and fixes to be reused where applicable. We need someone experienced in working with existing codebases to complete the remaining API integrations, resolve documented issues, and improve overall application stability, performance, and reliability. Scope of Work 1. API Integration Integrate the remaining backend APIs, which are already developed and available. Shared / Common Features (Rider & Captain) Delete Profile App Version Check Ride History & Ride Details Promo Codes & Redemption Add / Delete Payment Methods Checkout / Make Payments Transaction History Notifications Integration (device token registration, push notification handling, foreground/background notifications, notification navigation, notification history, and related functionality) Heat-map View Update Captain Legal Documents Update Captain Vehicle Pictures Payouts / Withdrawals Shared functionality should be implemented efficiently, reusing existing patterns, utilities, and logic wherever appropriate rather than duplicating unnecessary work between applications. All integrations must include proper API response handling, loading states, error handling, and accurate synchronization with backend data. 2. Bug Fixes & Code Improvements Both applications have already undergone code reviews, and the identified issues are documented in detailed reports. The work will focus on agreed issues involving: Application stability, state management, and lifecycle handling. Ride workflows, real-time updates, and map performance. Payment, wallet, and transaction handling. API response handling, data consistency, and error recovery. Performance bottlenecks, unnecessary re-renders, and inefficient list rendering. UI inconsistencies, navigation, and general functional issues. Code organization, maintainability, and targeted refactoring where necessary. Other documented functional and technical issues agreed upon before implementation. The detailed review reports are shared. The objective is to resolve the agreed issues and improve reliability without unnecessarily rewriting existing functionality. Only important issues in the reports are needed to be fixed, small/ineffective items can be ignored. The mentioned malware/backdoor issue is already resolved as well. 3. Testing & Verification Test completed integrations and affected workflows on both Android and iOS. Verify shared functionality independently in both applications. Ensure existing functionality remains unaffected by changes. Resolve regressions introduced during implementation. Deliver clean, maintainable, and properly integrated code. Requirements Strong experience with React Native CLI (bare React Native, not Expo). Experience integrating REST APIs into existing mobile applications. Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and refactoring skills. Good understanding of state management, asynchronous operations, and application performance. Experience with Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM), iOS push notifications, and notification lifecycle handling. Familiarity with RTL and Arabic localisation, real-time communication, WebSockets, and ride-hailing applications is a strong advantage. Ability to work independently, understand existing codebases quickly, and follow established project conventions. Good communication and ability to provide regular progress updates. Project Details Applications: 2 existing React Native CLI apps (Rider & Captain) Contract: Fixed-price Potential: Long-term collaboration for future development and additional milestones The applications share similar functionality, so we expect common integrations and solutions to be reused efficiently across both codebases. This project focuses on API integration and bug fixing. Additional features, including full RTL/localization improvements and server-driven UI (SDUI), are planned for later milestones with separate payments and are not part of this contract.
