Senior WordPress/WooCommerce Developer

We are an Australian medical products manufacturer operating an established live WordPress/WooCommerce website. We are transitioning away from our existing developer and require a senior WordPress/WooCommerce/PHP specialist to independently audit the existing website and subsequently take over its technical management. This is an existing customised live WooCommerce site, not a new website build or redesign. The immediate priority is business continuity and establishing full independent control of the website and its infrastructure. Phase 1 – Technical audit / takeover assessment We require an urgent review of: hosting/server environment and administrative access; domain/DNS and associated services; WordPress/WooCommerce configuration and administrator access; database and PHP environment; current backup arrangements and independent restore capability; themes, child/parent theme structure and custom PHP; custom WooCommerce functionality and modifications; plugins, compatibility issues and dependencies; licences/subscriptions and whether any are controlled by the existing developer; payment, shipping, email/SMTP and other integrations; security, administrator accounts and access; scheduled/automated processes; technical debt or implementation issues that create material continuity or maintenance risk. We require a concise written report identifying: critical risks; what the company currently controls independently; anything dependent on or controlled by the outgoing developer; information/access that must be obtained during handover; immediate actions required to secure business continuity; recommended remediation and priorities. Important: No material changes are to be made to the live website during the initial audit without our approval. Phase 2 – Takeover Subject to satisfactory completion of the audit, we intend for the selected developer to assist with the outgoing developer handover, secure/document all company access, remediate critical issues, and assume ongoing technical responsibility for the website. Strong hands-on experience with WooCommerce, PHP, WordPress plugin/theme development, custom code, hosting/server environments, troubleshooting, and takeover of existing/legacy WordPress installations is essential. Australian-based or Australian-time-zone availability is preferred.
