## Project Overview
I'm looking for a highly experienced eBay API, marketplace infrastructure, or search-indexing specialist to help solve a specific technical challenge involving the discovery of newly published eBay listings.
**This is a paid technical consultation and proof-of-concept project, NOT a request to develop a complete application.**
### The Technical Problem
New eBay listings can sometimes be directly accessible through their Item IDs before appearing in conventional eBay keyword search results.
The challenge is discovering these **previously unknown Item IDs within seconds of publication**, ideally within 10–30 seconds and preferably no later than 60 seconds.
I'm seeking an expert who understands how listing-publication events, indexing, API infrastructure, or other authorized data sources work and can demonstrate an independently reproducible early-discovery method.
### What I Need From You
**1. Expert knowledge and technical guidance**
Explain a credible mechanism for discovering newly published eBay listings before conventional search indexing.
Identify the relevant APIs, endpoints, event sources, access requirements, request parameters, or technical principles.
**2. A verifiable live demonstration**
Demonstrate your proposed method discovering genuinely new eBay listings within seconds of their creation.
The demonstration must establish:
- Previously unknown Item IDs are acquired without advance knowledge of those IDs.
- Discovery timestamps can be independently verified against actual listing creation times.
- The approach works on multiple previously unknown listings during a live observation window.
- The original source of the Item IDs can be technically verified.
- Results are compared against conventional eBay search visibility.
Specific product categories and evaluation conditions will be discussed privately with shortlisted applicants.
**3. Independent reproducibility and knowledge transfer**
I do not need you to build a full monitoring application.
I need enough technical documentation and guidance to independently implement and verify the acquisition method using my own infrastructure and legitimately obtained access.
The final deliverable should explain the acquisition source, necessary authorization, request or event structure, parameters, discovery procedure, limitations, and reproduction steps.
### Critical Independence Requirement
The solution must NOT depend on an existing commercial eBay monitoring application, an undisclosed third-party listing feed, another person's notification service, or Item IDs obtained from such systems.
Simply forwarding listings from a faster commercial monitoring tool does not qualify.
The underlying acquisition method must be identifiable, accessible through legitimate authorization, and independently reproducible without ongoing dependence on your proprietary infrastructure.
Ordinary eBay keyword scraping, faster Browse API polling, RSS monitoring of already-indexed listings, and direct lookups of Item IDs supplied in advance are not solutions to this particular challenge.
### Budget and Engagement
**Budget: $500, negotiable based on demonstrated expertise.**
I propose a short engagement with three separately evaluated milestones:
- Initial paid technical consultation and feasibility assessment.
- Live proof of concept with independently verifiable evidence.
- Technical documentation and knowledge transfer sufficient for independent reproduction.
I'm primarily paying for specialized knowledge and a working, demonstrable method rather than development hours.
### Who Should Apply
Engineers or researchers with firsthand experience in eBay APIs, marketplace data infrastructure, search-indexing systems, event-driven acquisition, or similarly specialized discovery mechanisms.
**Please answer these questions in your proposal:**
1. Have you personally worked with methods for discovering newly published eBay listings before conventional search indexing?
2. What general type of acquisition mechanism would you investigate? You do not need to disclose proprietary implementation details during initial screening.
3. Can you demonstrate where the previously unknown Item IDs originate, rather than merely displaying early listings?
4. Would your approach be independently reproducible without reliance on your own server or a commercial monitoring service?
5. What would you charge for an initial paid technical consultation?
I welcome applicants who can provide credible technical evidence and clearly explain the limitations of their approach.
**Please do not submit generic scraping or notification-bot proposals.** The essential problem is acquiring the initial unknown Item ID before ordinary search discovers the listing.
Only legitimate, authorized methods will be considered.
