Fractional CTO Needed (Architecture + Team Oversight) for New Software Development Company

We are launching a new software development division and are seeking an experienced Fractional CTO / Senior Software Engineer to partner with us in building a scalable, high-quality delivery products. This is not a basic developer role, we are looking for someone who can provide technical leadership, architecture oversight, and help us manage outsourced engineering pods while ensuring excellent execution standards. We already have strong project management, branding, and client-facing operations. Now we need the right technical leader to complete the core foundation. Responsibilities As our Fractional CTO, you will: Define the technical architecture and engineering standards for client projects Help scope software projects and estimate timelines accurately Review and oversee work from developers hired through Upwork or partner teams Set up scalable workflows for development, QA, deployment, and documentation Advise on the best tech stack based on the niche we are targeting Ensure code quality, security, and maintainability Support AI-assisted development workflows (Cursor, Claude Code, etc.) Act as the technical point of contact for complex client discussions Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who has: 8+ years of senior software engineering experience Previous experience as a CTO, Technical Lead, or Solutions Architect Strong background in building MVPs and scaling systems Experience managing distributed or outsourced teams Ability to translate business requirements into technical execution Familiarity with modern stacks (React, Node, Python, AWS/GCP, etc.) Strong communication and documentation habits Bonus if you have experience in: PropTech, Construction Tech, Real Estate platforms SaaS product development AI-powered applications Engagement Model This is a fractional leadership role, not full-time employment initially. 5–15 hours per week to start Long-term opportunity as we grow Potential to evolve into a permanent CTO role for the right partner Key Deliverables (First 30 Days) Define recommended tech stack + delivery framework Create SOPs for outsourcing + developer pods Assist in hiring the first contract engineering team Review and guide the first client project architecture Establish scalable project execution standards Why Join Us We are building a premium software development brand focused on high-value niches, combining: Strong design + marketing positioning Professional project management AI-accelerated development workflows Long-term growth into productized SaaS offerings This is an opportunity to join early and shape the technical foundation of a growing company.
