Full-Stack Developer (AI-Assisted), Hourly Contractor

We are hiring an hourly, remote full-stack developer who uses AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor or similar) as a core part of how they work. You will build features from our product roadmap across our Vue 3 front end and Node back end. You write the code, the tests and the pull request. Our lead engineer reviews, QAs and deploys every change. You will work in a mature production app, roughly 100,000 lines of Vue 3 and JavaScript, with real customers and real payments flowing through it. • End-to-end features: from data model and API through to the Vue front end • Third-party integrations: payments, email, authentication and AI tools • Security and account features that need careful handling and thorough tests • Internal admin tooling for our support team • UI and UX improvements to existing pages • Improving test coverage and modernizing parts of a mature Vue 3 codebase How we work 1. Work is scoped in ClickUp tasks with clear acceptance criteria. 2. You build on a feature branch in Bitbucket. You cannot merge to master or deploy. 3. You run and test locally or on staging, with test data only. 4. Payment work uses Stripe test mode. 5. Every pull request includes tests, a short summary of what changed and how to verify it. 6. Our lead engineer reviews, QAs on staging, merges and deploys. We expect you to use AI tools heavily, but speed is never the goal on its own. You review every line the AI writes, check it for security issues (authentication, permissions, input validation, data exposure), and open a pull request only when the code is tested and you can explain every line of it. Requirements • 4+ years of professional full-stack development • Strong Vue 3, including the Options API and Composition API, and comfort modernizing an older codebase gradually rather than rewriting it • Node.js back-end experience: REST APIs, authentication and webhooks (for example Stripe or SendGrid) • Solid web application security practice: the OWASP Top 10, secure authentication and session handling, input validation, and keeping secrets out of code • Daily use of AI coding tools on production work, with examples you can walk us through • Git with pull-request-based review (we use Bitbucket) • Clear written communication in English and at least 4 hours of overlap with US Eastern time
