React Native Developer – On-Device OCR & Receipt Tracking App Fixed-Price MVP We are looking for an experienced React Native developer or small development team to build a lean iOS and Android MVP for a retail savings and price-tracking application. The app will allow users to scan in-store price tags using real-time on-device OCR, upload purchase receipts, track purchased items, and receive alerts when potential price reductions are identified. Core MVP Requirements 1. Real-Time Camera Scanner • React Native camera implementation • On-device OCR for iOS and Android • Detect predefined price patterns, markdown indicators, and symbols • Display real-time bounding boxes over detected prices • Must work offline without sending live camera frames to the cloud 2. Receipt Processing • Upload receipt photos and digital receipt screenshots • Extract purchase date, store/location, item/SKU number, description, and price • Allow users to review/correct extracted information • Track eligible purchases for a configurable price-adjustment period 3. Price Tracking & Alerts • Match receipt SKUs with updated price information • Detect potential price reductions • Show original price, updated price, and potential savings • Send push notifications when relevant changes are detected 4. Backend & Dashboard • Secure user authentication • PostgreSQL-based backend • Store receipts, items, prices, and price-drop records • User dashboard showing tracked purchases, countdown periods, alerts, and potential savings • Offline local caching for essential scanning functionality 5.
