React Developer

We are an established Los Angeles-based luxury catering company with a live React web application originally built on Base44. We’re looking for an experienced full-stack React developer who can review the existing codebase, improve what is already built, complete the remaining functionality, and help us create a polished, reliable ordering experience. Our goal is to make corporate catering feel as simple as ordering from a premium e-commerce brand. The customer should be able to move through the ordering process confidently without unnecessary emails, repeated forms, or confusion. Phase 1 includes: * Review, refine, and complete an existing 6-step catering order flow * Ensure live pricing and guest-count recommendations work correctly * Stripe card-on-file capture with no charge at the time of booking * HoneyBook integration so website order information automatically creates/updates the appropriate client/project record and triggers our existing automation * Incomplete-order recovery so customers who begin but do not finish an order can be followed up with * Event Review scheduling/calendar integration after every completed order * Complete a separate 2-step ordering flow for individual delivery boards * Corporate inquiry form and lead capture * Improve the internal admin dashboard for viewing and managing orders * Review existing delivery-area landing pages and prepare them for SEO content * Full mobile, tablet, and desktop responsiveness The right developer should be comfortable working inside an existing codebase rather than automatically recommending a rebuild. We want someone who can evaluate what we already have, explain what should stay or change, and make sound technical decisions. Strong experience with **React, JavaScript, API integrations, Stripe, backend/database logic, and multi-step web application flows** is important. Experience with Base44, Supabase, Firebase, HoneyBook, Zapier/Make, Calendly/Cal.com, or similar systems is a plus. Our UX direction, customer journey, brand strategy, and content strategy are already documented. We are **not looking for a copywriter or someone to completely redesign the concept**. We need a developer who can execute the existing vision well while speaking up when there is a stronger technical solution. We prefer milestone-based development, weekly check-ins, and async-friendly communication. We value proactive communication, clean documentation, realistic estimates, and a developer who thinks about the customer experience as much as whether the code technically works. **When applying, please include:** 2–3 relevant projects you personally built involving multi-step checkout, booking, configurators, or similar web applications; your role on those projects; your recommendation for continuing with Base44 versus changing any part of the stack; how you would approach the HoneyBook integration; how you would approach incomplete-order recovery; your rate; and an honest estimate of the hours you believe Phase 1 will require. This is a live business with real customers and a longer-term product roadmap. If Phase 1 goes well, there is potential for continued development as we add client accounts, saved orders, reorder functionality, and other repeat-customer features.
