Senior Backend Engineer — Node.js / TypeScript / NestJS — Laravel Migration

Senior Backend Developer – Node.js / NestJS / TypeScript We are looking for an experienced Backend Developer to support and improve our existing mobile application backend and help us gradually transition from Laravel/PHP to Node.js, NestJS, and TypeScript. The ideal developer should have strong experience with Node.js, NestJS, TypeScript, REST APIs, PostgreSQL/MySQL, Redis, AWS, authentication, WebSockets, and scalable backend architecture. Experience with Laravel/PHP is highly preferred, as the initial responsibility will include reviewing our existing Laravel backend, identifying technical debt, and developing a safe migration strategy rather than immediately rebuilding the entire system. We are looking for someone who can: * Review and understand an existing production backend * Maintain existing APIs while developing new NestJS services * Design clean, scalable backend architecture * Support mobile app, partner dashboard, and admin APIs * Work with real-time messaging, notifications, events, bookings, and user matching * Help create and execute a gradual Laravel → NestJS migration plan Preferred: Experience with social/mobile applications, AWS infrastructure, Docker, CI/CD, and production backend migrations.
