Senior Data Engineering Consultant — Client-Facing Technical Discovery & Interviews

**About us** We're an engineering team delivering data platform and pipeline work. Our delivery bench is strong; we need someone who can sit across the table from customers and run the technical conversation. **What you'll do** - Lead face-to-face and video technical sessions with prospective and existing customers - Represent our team in client technical interviews and vendor evaluations - Draw out real requirements from vague asks, and translate them into data architecture and scope - Produce solution outlines, effort estimates, and architecture diagrams after each engagement - Hand off clean, documented requirements to our delivery engineers - Act as the technical point of contact through the early phase of an account **What we're looking for** - 7+ years in data engineering, including 2+ years in a consulting, pre-sales, or solutions-architect role - Strong SQL and Python - Hands-on with at least one major cloud (AWS / Azure / GCP) - Pipelines and orchestration: Airflow, dbt, Spark, or Kafka - Warehouses and lakehouses: Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Databricks - Excellent spoken English and real comfort in front of a customer — you can handle pushback, unclear scope, and non-technical stakeholders in the same meeting **Nice to have** - Data governance, data quality, or MDM experience - Streaming and real-time architectures - Relevant cloud or platform certifications
