Senior Fullstack Engineer: Angular + Python (FastAPI), Berlin 90% remote, from EU

Key data: - Start: 1 December 2026 - End: 31 December 2027 - Utilization: 100% (full-time) - Location: Berlin, 90% remote (occasional onsite visits) - Languages: English B2-C1, German is a plus - Security clearance: you must be willing to undergo a German SÜ2 security clearance check. EU citizenship and residence strongly preferred. Project: Senior full-stack development covering the implementation and integration of backend and frontend functionality: Python/FastAPI backend development, API and database integration, Angular/TypeScript frontend development, and end-to-end functionality integrating existing platform capabilities. The work follows modern software engineering practices and delivers tested, maintainable and production-ready software within an existing Kubernetes-based architecture and deployment environment. Must-haves (each to be shown in personal project references): - Strong practical experience in full-stack software development and delivery of production-ready software. - Strong practical experience in Angular, including maintainable frontend applications and reusable components. - Strong practical experience in Python backend development, including REST APIs and application services using FastAPI. - Experience with relational databases, persistence layers and database schema migrations using Alembic. - Experience designing and implementing end-to-end functionality across frontend and backend, including API integration. - Experience with automated testing, code review, refactoring and maintainable software architecture. - Experience with agentic and AI-assisted software engineering tools, including reviewing, validating and refining generated code before it goes into production. - Basic working knowledge of containerized applications and Kubernetes (develop, configure and troubleshoot within an existing environment). - Basic working knowledge of Helm charts, application configuration and deployment concepts. - Basic knowledge of Microsoft Azure and DevOps concepts. - Git-based collaborative development, including pull requests and code reviews. - Professional working proficiency in English. Nice-to-have: - Java and integration with Java-based applications or services. - Kafka or event-driven architectures. - Understanding of electrical grid operations, power systems or the Transmission System Operator (TSO) domain. - Background in electrical or power system engineering. - Optimization, grid analysis or other computationally intensive engineering applications. - German language skills.
