I'm a solo bootstrapped founder. I have a real, working real-estate SaaS built on Convex + Next.js, and I need help finishing it — not building something new. THE HONEST SITUATION The codebase is large: 221 Convex tables, a 7,400-line schema, ~840 backend function files, ~1,400 web files, in a pnpm/Turborepo monorepo with a Next.js 16 app and two Expo (React Native) apps. It works. It's in production with Clerk auth and Stripe billing on org-scoped multi-tenancy. The problem is that it's roughly 80% finished in about 40 different places. Backend functions exist that nothing calls. UI exists that points at nothing. Features that demo fine but break at the last step. I don't need more features. I need someone who can take ONE path at a time, wire it end to end, and verify it actually works at the far end — the real user-visible outcome, not "the function returned 200." STACK - Convex (backend, database, scheduled functions, file storage) - Next.js 16 / React 19 / TypeScript - Clerk auth, Stripe billing, multi-tenant org scoping - Expo 54 (two React Native apps) - Turborepo + pnpm workspaces WHAT YOU'D DO - Finish half-wired paths end to end and prove they work - Multi-tenant correctness: make sure internal functions are auth-gated and org-scoped - Convex query discipline: bounded pagination, correct index usage, cutting database read cost - Clerk/Convex auth boundary work across web and mobile - Occasional Stripe billing and webhook work WHO I'M LOOKING FOR - Strong TypeScript. This is a big typed codebase and you will live in it. - Real experience working in a LARGE EXISTING codebase, not just MVPs from scratch. This matters more to me than anything else on this list. - The discipline to finish and verify rather than leave another 80%-done thing behind. I will ask you how you verified. - Convex experience is a plus, not a requirement. If you're strong in TypeScript and have used Firebase/Supabase/Prisma seriously you'll pick it up quickly. Just tell me honestly which you've used. HOW THIS STARTS This is a bootstrapped MVP, so I'm being realistic: modest hours to start (around 10 a week), with room to grow if it works out. I'd rather find one person and keep them long-term than churn through five. First I'd like to pay you for one small, bounded, real task — a few hours at your rate. It's actual work I need done, not a test exercise. If that goes well, we continue ongoing. TO APPLY - PLEASE DO THESE THREE THINGS I'd rather read four real applications than forty templates, so applications that skip these will be archived unread. 1. Tell me about ONE time you inherited a large codebase someone else wrote and shipped something real in it. What was confusing, and how did you get oriented? 2. How do you verify a feature works end to end, beyond "the tests pass"? Be specific about something you've actually done. 3. Start your reply with the word "lighthouse" so I know you read this. Bonus, only if you've used Convex: what's the trap with .filter() on a large table, and what should you use instead? No penalty at all if you haven't used Convex — just say so.
